• School Leaders For Colorado, Inc. is dedicated to the recruitment, training and development of traditional and non-traditional school leaders and leadership teams in a quality alternative principal licensure program that allows school districts to find home grown choices in leaders.

• In 2002, the Colorado Legislature, in SB 152 by Senator John Evans, ended “credentialing program” and replaced it with a performance based teacher and principal preparation program;

• In 2004, the Colorado Legislature, empowered the Colorado Department of Education to develop the alternative principal preparation; and

• School Leaders for America, Inc. has a working agreement with the Department of Education to implement the program for non-traditional leaders as well as traditional candidates.
