January 12, 2005• Tokyo is hosting the “Hi Tech Millennium” (HTM)

Conference beginning on January 15th. It is to have a dual purpose. The first 2 days are designed to hold a “Davos” like meeting bringing together most of the world’s leading figures such as John Stuart the like to discuss key current issues and future prognoses for the world of science and technology.

• 1,500 of the most prominent have been invited from all over the world to Tokyo. Phase 2 of the week-long conference will be a trade fair of hi-tech goods with foreign attendees numbering 10,000 and at least double that amount from Japan. Security officials are fully prepared and alert.

January 13Morning• U.S. and U.K. security officials provide their

Japanese counterparts with sketchy, “unconfirmed” information they have obtained. It reports that an extremist group known as the “Return” is planning violent disruptive acts against conference attendees. Few details are available on the “Return” other than it is a recidivist, back-to-nature group of young anarchists who have harassed and threatened the World Bank and IMF. An underground leader of this group has been identified as a Swiss biochemist, Hans Jung.

• Recent reports from Interpol have tied Jung, strangely enough, to contacts with a suspected Saint Brigade representative in Zurich.

Mid-day• CNN reports that there is a degree of alarm in Hong

Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai over a number of recently discovered SARs cases.

Late Afternoon• Seashore Hotel security officials in Tokyo alert the Tokyo

police to a potential suspected drug smuggling operation at their hotel. The police detain a German national, Helga Fried, for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Her traveling partner, Hans Wolf, fled the hotel before the police arrived, and is at large.

18:00• At the police station, Fried clearly under the influence of

drugs reveals that Hans Wolf is actually the “Revolutionary” Hans Jung, and that Jung has devised a plan that is already underway to spread SARs among the Millennium Conference and to plant explosives at at least two venues. She has no further details as to how he plans to accomplish this mission.

19:00• A preliminary check of airlines indicates that the

bulk of “HTM” attendees from China and Singapore will begin to arrive for the conference mid-afternoon of the 14th.

19:30• Police checks confirm Fried and Wolf/Jung

arrived 2 days ago and appeared to be in a party of 6. The other four – 3 Europeans and one Asian (non-Japanese) – are at the moment nowhere to be found, and identification information is sketchy.

20:00• A doctor who examines Fried is uncertain of the

degree of her rationality but confirms she is under the influence of drugs.
