This Wednesday night will be our traditional

Thanksgiving service.

Come prepared to give a testimony praising God for the good things He has done.

I like to emphasize things from the current year, but you can do as you feel you should.

Let’s limit ourselves to three or four minutes each.

I will not be preaching.

Songs of thanksgiving and

praise.

1 Samuel 26 1 And the Ziphites came unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon? 2 Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

(TLB) 3-4 Saul camped along the road at the edge of the wilderness where David was hiding, but David knew of Saul’s arrival and sent out spies to watch his movements.

(TLB) 5-6 David slipped over to Saul’s camp one night to look around. King Saul and General Abner were sleeping inside a ring formed by the slumbering soldiers. "Any volunteers to go down there with me?" David asked Ahimelech (the Hittite) and Abishai (Joab’s brother and the son of Zeruiah).

"I’ll go with you," Abishai replied.

God wants servants like Abishai, who when asked to serve will step up and say, “ I will.”

Men like IsaiahIsaiah 6 8 Also I heard the Voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?

Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Zechariah 4 (NIV) 6b Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.

God asks us to give nothing that He has not first given us.

God asks us to do nothing that He has not first

empowered us to do by His Holy Spirit.

May we, as Abishai did when David asked,

Step up and say, “ I will.”May we, as Isaiah did, step up and say,

“Here am I, send me.”Our most useful ability is availability.
