8

If Play is already stopped for Any reason…

NOTHING THAT HAPPENS CAN BE A FOUL

NOTHING THAT HAPPENS CAN AFFECT THE RESTART

Page 9: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

9

If your Call is a Foul

You cannot wait for a natural stoppage

You must stop play or apply advantage

Page 10: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

10

If your Call involves a Caution or a Sending-Off…

You can apply advantage…

After which you CAN either stop play or wait for a natural stoppage

Page 11: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

11

If your Call is a Foul and Misconduct…

Your action is determined by the foul

You can stop play or apply advantage and wait for a natural stoppage

Page 12: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

12

The ONLY time you must decide on a Restart is WHEN YOU STOP PLAY!

A foul can NEVER happen when play is already stopped;

there can only be Misconduct

Page 13: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

13

If you wait for a natural stoppage or if misconduct occurs while play is stopped…

The Restart is ALREADY DETERMINED!

(by whatever caused the stoppage)

Page 14: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

14

If you stop play SOLELY to deal with misconduct committed by a player ON the field of play…

The Restart is ALWAYS INDIRECT FREE KICK

Page 15: 1 Referee Decision Making on Fouls and Misconduct.

15

If you stop play SOLELY to deal with misconduct committed OFF the field of play

The Restart is ALWAYS A DROPPED BALL
