The type of plans we offer is decided by Queen’s, based on a variety of factors and student feedback:

– The meal plan review committee (with student representation)

– budgetary factors (by the budget review committee, also with student representation),

– surveys, research, etc.

FALSE!All meal plans are budgeted based on historical patterns of attendance by individual meal plans – which include allowances for anticipated missed meals.

So, unless a students eating pattern varies widely from the norm (and this is unusual) students are not paying for meals they don’t eat.

There is no incentive for Sodexo or Queen’s to “save” food…the money is intended to be spent and it is spent.

BUT… if there were less theft and waste, we could use the savings within that year for the benefit of current students
