Task
You will be learning about vertebrates and invertebrates and when you are done, you will be able to identify the difference between the two. You will learn about 5 different classes of vertebrates and 2 different classes of invertebrates.
TASK
Process1. You will learn the difference between
vertebrates and invertebrates.2. You will learn about the five different classes of
vertebrates, and the two different classes of invertebrates.
3. Matching game: you will match a description to the correct class of vertebrate or invertebrate.
4. Using excel, you will read facts about a mystery creature and figure out what type of animal is being described.
5. You will list all 5 vertebrates and 2 invertebrates, with
characteristics and illustrations.
Step1 and 2
Throughout the next couple of slides you will learn the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. You will also learn about the five different classes of vertebrates, and the two different classes of invertebrates. You will watch a video clip and you will read descriptions about the different classes of animals.
You may now begin.
Step 1 & 2
Animal kingdom groups
Scientists divided the animal kingdom into two main groups. The first group has a backbone. This group is called vertebrates.
The second group does not have a backbone. This group is called invertebrates.

Step 3 Now, let’s see how much you learned about vertebrates and invertebrates. Click on link below to play a game about vertebrates and invertebrates. Draw a line between matching items in each column. Play the game at least 3 times. Your goal is to score a 10 on the game.

Step 3
Step 4
? You are now going to be given a mystery creature. You will need to read each of the facts about the creature and using your knowledge about vertebrates and invertebrates, figure out what type of creature you were given. Click the question mark below to begin identifying your mystery creature. GOOD LUCK!!!
?
Step 4
Step 5Step 5
Now to check your understanding, you need to correctly match the definition to the animal kingdom group, the different classes to the animal kingdom group and the pictures to the animal kingdom class. Then, type a description about each of the animal kingdom classes in the space provided. Last, type a summary comparing and contrasting vertebrates and invertebrates. This assignment will be graded. To see the rubric about how you will be graded, click the checklist below. Click on the magic wand below to begin the graded excel activity.
