Natural Gas

Pipe Sizing

2

Size all piping using this column (mains, branches, etc.).

Procedure:

Find the longest run from the gas meter to the farthest appliance. Use linear feet.

Add up the Btuh input of all appliances connected to this gas line.

Enter the table at the longest run column and don’t get out of it again.

3

Longest run = 8 + 15 + 10 + 3 + 3 + 46 + 2 = 87 Linear Feet

4

Total Btuh input of all appliances = 100 + 50 + 35 + 45 + 60 = 290,000 Btuh

5

Longest run = 87’

Total input = 290 MBHPipe size = 1 ¼”
