MOSFIRE is a Multi-Object Spectrometer for the Near Infra-Red
(wavelengths ~0.975-2.40 μm)
• We are deep in the component fabrication and procurement phase.
• Optics: Good progress at COSI, UCO, and other suppliers
• Mechanical & Facilities: – Lots of fabrication complete and in-process at
Caltech/UCLA shops as well as outside shops for larger components such as dewar, structure.
– Clean room installed in Synchrotron high bay– Test & Build Stand fabrication complete
• Software: good progress; waiting for hardware
• Electronics: ramping up, EE hired @ UCLA1st Cold Test in planned for May 5, 2008
