Two years earlier, Paco Rabanne had landed in the fashion world, dressing pop stars in cut metal while announ-cing his provocative agenda: “Creation it’s about shock!”

A snap of the fingers and fast forward to 2008 when Paco Rabanne made waves in the fragrance pool with a gold bar. 1 Million is flamboyant, insolent and iconoclastic. Lady Million, its feminine alter-ago, followed in 2010.

The density of amber-hued gold

For dressing the world in gold, there is no one better than Paco Rabanne. In the mid-60s, Françoise Hardy was illuminated in a dress formed of nine kilos of fine gold plates, inlaid at the collar with some 300 carats of diamonds. The same radiance inspired the 1 Million bottle – the big-spender gold bar updated by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance in 2008.

For her, the bottle is cut to mimic the Regent. Discovered in India in the 17th-century, this famous diamond weighing in at more than 400 carats in its uncut form is part of the French Crown jewels and kept at the Louvre museum.

In the Privé version, the bottles are lit by the light of an eclipse. The gold becomes even more intense with tones of amber while gold plates stand out on the caps: “Privé”!

The rear is bare and translucent, hinting at an amber-hued liquid. Paco Rabanne is a master in the art of revealing just enough.

Pour habiller la mode en or, Paco Rabanne est roi. Et c’est Françoise Hardy qui irradie au milieu des 60’s dans une robe com-posée de 9 kilos de plaques en or fin, incrustées à l’encolure de quelques 300 carats de diamants. Ce même éclat a inspiré le flacon 1 Million, le lingot, flambeur, revisité par Noé Duchaufour Lawrance en 2008.

Pour elle, le verre est taillé dans la forme du Régent. Découvert en Inde au XVIIe siècle, ce célèbre diamant de plus de 400 carats à l’origine, fait partie des joyaux de la Couronne de France et est conservé au Musée du Louvre.

En version Privé, les flacons s’éclairent d’une lumière d’éclipse. L’or devient plus profond, ambré, alors que des plaques dorées se détachent sur les capots : « Privé » !

Le dos est nu, translucide, et laisse deviner un jus aux teintes ambrées. Paco Rabanne est maître dans l’art d’en dévoiler juste assez.
