This week, we have been helping Om (our Stone Age friend) make the transition from the Mesolithic into the Neolithic Stone Age (evolve from hunter-gatherers into farmers).

To do this we have written descriptions of Om’s camp; designed and labelled our own Neolithic shelters and started to learn about flowering plants.

Thank you for sending us all your work – we are sure it will help Om and her tribe make their transition.

We have even managed to enjoy some French this week.

Now we know that Ivan lives in a concrete cage in a shopping mall we have been writing descriptions to portray what life is like for him. We have also looked at designing a dream domain for Ivan.

We have enjoyed learning about MRS GREN and the characteristics of living things in science.

In geography, we have been learning about UK counties and how these are similar to US states.

In maths, we have recapped doubling and halving numbers, multiplication and word problems.

As artists we have continued to work on our gorilla sketches.

Wow! We have started our Greatest Showman narrative. We have been hard at work already! In English, to help Barnum realise his dream we have written descriptive pieces about a circus. We have explored the text ‘From Now On’ in reading and started designing posters to encourage people to visit the circus.

Mr Mills has been reading extracts from the book ‘You Are Awesome’ each day – if you haven’t had chance to catch up then please follow the links on our webpage.

In maths, we have been working with decimal numbers.

Well Y6, we set you the task of researching the Titanic and you have not disappointed us. We have loved receiving the co-ordinate pictures and double page spreads that you have created.

In English, we have loved reading your descriptive passages of your journey on the Titanic before it hits the iceberg. We can tell you have put a lot of effort into these to make them effective.

We have received some excellent iceberg sketches and will be building on this next week.

In maths, we have been recapping on the four operations – these are key skills that you will need in Y7. Try to make sure that your MyMaths is up to date and remember you can keep repeating each task – practice really does make perfect!
