I. Finalizing the extension process of a USINL Grant that will allow us to host a Passenger Interdiction Course in Barbados.

II. Expecting to receive funds ($250,000 USD) from the U.S. State Department Secretariat for Counterterrorism (S/CT) to execute the following courses:

• Regional Workshop in Insider Threats in Trinidad and Tobago, • Sub regional Course in Access Control Techniques in St. Lucia • National Course in Access Control Techniques in Guyana• National Training Course in Cargo Security in Dominica• National Training Course in Cargo Security in Barbados III. Activities 2016: • National Passenger Interdiction Course in Barbados• Regional Workshop in Insider Threats in Trinidad and Tobago• Sub regional Access Control Technique Course in St. Lucia• National Access Control Technique Course in Guyana• National Training Course in Cargo Security in Dominica; Barbados

MARITIME SECURITYMARITIME SECURITYI. Developed national and sub-regional “best practices” workshops on key aspects of

maritime security. Over the next year and a half, these will focus primarily on: • Maritime domain awareness and “Port State Control” (Caribbean States, South American

States, Mexico, Guatemala, Barbados – all to be confirmed)• Information systems security in the maritime domain (Three sub-regional workshops –

Caribbean, Central America, South America)• Maritime security drills and exercises (Guatemala, Honduras, Central America – all to be

confirmed)

II. Comprehensive training needs assessments and following on training in specific ports (over 2 years):

• Mexico• Panama• Costa Rica• Belize

training is pending, as well as both stages for Trinidad and Tobago and Belize. II. Funds from Canada’s ACCBP are expected to be received in the upcoming

weeks, in order to conduct Assessments as well as Train-the-Trainer Trainings on container control and cargo vessel security in:

• Mexico, • Honduras, • Peru, • Trinidad and Tobago, • Colombia, • Costa Rica, • Chile• The Dominican Republic

UN SECURITY COUNCIL UN SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 1540 IMPLEMENTATIONRESOLUTION 1540 IMPLEMENTATION

I. CICTE is working with Mexico, Panama and Colombia and very soon will begin the cooperation with Chile, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay and Ecuador to achieve the implementation of the UNSCR 1540 (2004) in these countries during 2015 - 2017

II. A regional conference on the status of UNSCR 1540 implementation in The Americas will be held in Mexico City in 2016.

III. "Peer Review" activities between Mexico and United Stated and Colombia and Chile will also take place.
