INTRODUCTONINTRODUCTON

• The aim of the brief is to outline the ICT Exhibition and Mediation of Software Scope Statement to all the PELT members.

• To highlight the roles and responsibilities of all e-Learning officials (HO & Districts) in advocating and ensuring the success of the Provincial ICT Exhibition.

BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND• To host the Provincial ICT Exhibition and to

mediate curriculum software to educators from all the primary and secondary schools in the Province.

• The ICT Exhibition will be used as a platform to exhibit and mediate the software that has been evaluated by the GDE, during the software evaluation and selection process (planned to be completed by end of August 2009).

• The Provincial e-Learning Directorate has called for submissions from software vendors for the 1st time this year and the response was overwhelming (about 400 titles were received).

PMTPMT

• The Project Management Team will be drawn from the existing expertise within the PELT (one representative per District).

• The representatives will be the task team leaders at the ICT exhibition, they will be responsible for giving progress reports to their Unit members at their Districts.

• A representative from the Communications Directorate at HO will be part of the team.

• To raise an awareness about the available ICTs for teaching and learning and to guide educators on the use of Curriculum Software.

• To transfer skills on the use of ICTs to educators for optimum educator and learner performance.

• To promote the integration of ICTs into the curriculum to enhance the delivery of teaching and learning.

• With the ICT exhibition the e-Learning Directorate hopes to highlight and expose the available digital content to enable optimal integration of ICTs across the curriculum, to enhance teaching and learning.

• It is envisaged that educators will be encouraged to use ICTs for their personal development and to add excitement in their classrooms.
