MEASURE*
• MEASURE confirms the impact of the school counseling program on critical data, those components of the school report card that are the backbone of the accountability movement. MEASURE supports the accountability component of the ASCA National Model and moves school counselors from a “counting tasks” system to aligning the school counseling program with standards-based reform.– Student achievement data measures students’ academic
progress. – Achievement-related data measures those fields that research
has shown to be correlated to academic achievement. – To disaggregate data, school counselors separate data by
variables to see if there are any groups of students who may not be doing as well as others. These data often bring to light issues of equity and focuses the discussion on the needs of specific groups of students.
