Forensics• Forensic science has come to mean the application of the

• James Frye convicted of second degree murder• On appeal, defense counsel said that the court

erred when it refused the introduction of a systolic blood pressure deception test and expert testimony on the test as evidence

• The court stated that, to be accepted in a court of law, the scientific evidence must be generally accepted in the scientific community– Systolic pressure deception test was NOT generally

accepted by scientific community so not admissible
