You’ll need (Makes 12) 50g butter 100g chocolate, broken into chunks 3 tbsp golden syrup 100g cornflakes Sweets to decorate (gummy worms are Mo’s favourite) 12 cupcake cases Kids Measure out the butter, chocolate and golden syrup and put them in a saucepan or a bowl that can go in the microwave (check with a grown up if you’re not sure!). Weigh the cornflakes too and put them in another large bowl. grown ups Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup – either over a low heat in a saucepan or at low power in short bursts in the microwave. Stir it from time to time to help the ingredients melt. Let the mixture cool a little before the next step. Kids Pour the chocolately mixture over the cornflakes and stir together with a wooden spoon. Arrange 12 cupcake cases on a muffin tray or baking sheet. Spoon the mixture into the cases. Decorate the mudcakes with sweets like gummy worms to make them messtastic! Pop them in the fridge to cool and set. Selling tasty treats at a bake sale is a great way to boost your fundraising and reach your team target. You could ask people to donate £1 per mudcake. © NSPCC 2018.
