3 waits until his team is ready to step out of bounds and receive the ball. 5 turns to his outside shoulder and screens for 2. 2 takes his man toward the middle of the court and is clever! He cuts shoulder to hip off of five toward the ball and then to the corner.

As soon as 5 begins to screen for 2, 4 head hunts 5’s man and sets a hard screen on 5’s defender. 5 sprints off 4’s screen. 4 slips to the ball. These two options are our best scoring options. 1 is the release valve. 1 counts to 1002 then sprints the sideline.

If none of these options are open we throw the ball to 2 then to 1. 5 pops up and 4 curls off 3. 4 or 3 might be open.

Box 2 – Zone – 2 and three do not screen, but sprint to the opposite corner. The bottom of the zone will move out with them. 4 and 5 hesitate for two seconds.

Box 2 – Zone – 5 screens the middle man of the zone and four cuts to the ball. 4 is the first option. 5 slipping the screen is the second option. (Often 5 doesn’t have to “screen” the middle, he can just post and call for the ball.)

3 is your best three point shooter. 5 sets his man up then sprints to the corner. 4 ducks in for an easy bucket. If 4 doesn’t get it, he must get out. 3 enters the ball to 5. 2 screens across or screens ball side of the zone.1 sprints to wing ft line extended. 2 pops up.

5 looks at 4 stepping in as a post up situation. If that is available he reverses the ball to 1. 3 puts his head on the rim then cuts off 5’s screen to the corner.

“Sideline” – Use this play to get the ball in against man pressure in the backcourt. 1 Screens for 2. If 2 is open hit him and attack the basket.
