Activities carried under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav
Week 9 (03.05.2021-09.05.2021)
1. BCCL
Keeping in view of the rapid escalation of COVID-19 cases in Dhanbad, the scheduled BKAM activity could not be undertaken in this week.
In this week, focus was put upon the sanitization of office and hospitals of BCCL so as to put some check on the increase of COVID-19 cases.
2. MCL
Marking India’s 75th Anniversary of Independence this year, MCL along with BAIF
organized its event of the series of events planned for ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, a 75
week-long celebration to mark the 75th years of India’s Independence in its operational
districts.
The event organized virtually for the rural masses in project operational clusters of the
CCDP-Utthan was aimed for livelihood enhancement through Livestock development.
Awareness creation and demonstration on artificial insemination, medication, feed,
housing etc. was made. Other emerging technologies such as sex sorted semen were
also addressed in the discussion with participants.
BAIF hosted the event which started with briefing about the objective of the event he
welcomed the chief guest, Mr. P.K.Chakraborty, GM (CSR), Mr. Arabinda Sahoo, Asst.
Manager (CSR),Mr Ajit Majhi, Manager, CSR, MCL, Mr Kedar Dandasena, MCL and all the
participant farmers who joined virtually from different cluster areas.
Mr. G.P. Sahu, ACPE (BAIF), briefed the participants on role of livestock in poverty
alleviation, income generation and the sustainable model that a family can adopt by
getting engaged into livestock activity. He also created awareness on breed
enhancement, use of Sorted Semen, feed management for healthy cattle rearing and
increasing the herd size.
Veterinarian Dr. Sunil Kumar Dash (BAIF), explained about the improved livestock
practices. Dr. Dash explained about various infections and diseases that the large
ruminants are vulnerable to and how to avoid them. Discussing about the importance of
AI, he explained how a breed enhancement can result into enhanced livelihood
management.
Apart from these large ruminant animals’ breed enhancement and management, Dr.
Dash explained about goat rearing and poultry rearing. Goat ad poultry rearing being
short income models can be accepted by villagers with less land holding and can get
most benefits out if it. Goat and poultry being low investment high output models
should be promoted and followed by farmers to cope up better during the lean
agricultural periods.
3. ECL
May 9, is celebrated as Rabindra Nath Tagore Jayanti in India in 2021. Tagore was one of the
world's most prolific writers and poet and has also been awarded a Nobel prize in literature.
Tagore was the first person from India to have ever been awarded the Nobel prize. His work
primarily consisted of Bengali and English literature. Tagore inspired thousands of writers that
came after him and was one of the most revered writers in the country. On the occasion of
Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti, he was remembered by garlanding of photographs by the officials
of Bankola Area, ECL.
4. SECL
Considering the covid situation and closure of schools, Essay competition has been organized online for students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jamuna Colliery on themes of 75 years of Indian Independence, contribution of various freedom fighters. Students have participated in this essay competition with full enthusiasm.Area- Jamuna Kotma organised by Jamuna Colliery, Dist. Anuppur.
5. CCL
Online slogan making competition was held among the students class 11th of CCL ke LAADLI ( A
CSR project of CCL, for providing free coaching for IIT level entrance exam) , on 08.05.2021 . The
topic of slogan writing competition was “ Go green Drink Clean” . The Children of CCL ke LAADLI
participated from their homes in good numbers via online mode and crafted some very creative
slogans on the theme of Go Green Drink Clean.
6. NCL
As part of the theme “Go Green Drink Clean” NCL during the 9th week of
observance of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav installed Solar Pump in a school campus
located in Gondawali Panchayat.
7. CMPDIL
"Bharat ka Amrut Mahotsav" (Celebrated from 12 March 2021 to 15 Aug, 2022) an initiative of hon'
ble Prime Minister to celebrate 75 years of Independence is being celebrated at CMPDI RI4, Nagpur
under leadership of Regional Director, Sri Manoj Kumar.On 08.05.2021 and online workshop was
organised at CMPDI ,RI 4 in which HODs and other employees participated.HOD(P&A) briefed about
importance of "Amrut Mahotsav" and various activities to be conducted under this
programme.Further RD RI4 appreciated this initiative of govt. and requested all for actively
participating in all programs to make it successful.Suggestions and views were sought from
participants regarding different activities to be conducted in this program.This Online workshop was
coordinated by Ms.Priyanka Tiwari,DM(P).

Covid Vaccination to Employees in SCCL
As part of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” the 8th celebrations was scheduled for
“Sport - (Inauguration of Summer Coaching Camps), but the activity was changed to
“Covid Vaccination to Employees in SCCL” as a mass vaccination drive with aim to
vaccinate all the employees in the age group of 45-60 years. The change in activity
is due to surge in Covid cases and restrictions imposed to prevent its spread.
The program was inaugurated by Sri N. Balaram, Director (Finance, P&P and
PA&W). He addressed the employees to get vaccinated at the Vaccination centers
established at SCCL hospitals and stay safe from the Covid infection. A web
conference was arranged to propagate the activity under “Azadi ka Amrut
Mahotsav”. The vaccination centers are visited by Directors, Area General Managers
during the activity.
