Pop festivals usually take place over a weekend andfeature a number of bands: mainly pop, rock, heavymetal and world music. They have become regularevents in many countries since the 60s. The mostfamous was Woodstock, which took place in theUSA in 1969. In the UK, pop festivals usually takeplace in the summer months. The most well knownare in Glastonbury, which started in 1970, andReading, which started in 1960. However, localoutdoor pop music concerts are also very common.

Energise! One of the most important stages in a lesson is thefeedback stage, when you check Ss’ answers, correctand clarify any doubts and problems you noticedwhile you were monitoring. It is also the chance togive positive comments on their work and progress, which is very motivating. Ss are then ready to moveon to the next part of the lesson, and should be ableto concentrate better!
