From the President: Judy Hall Johnson I just want to thank everybody that worked so hard to put the Christmas dinner together. Kim Burton did an outstanding job getting everything together. We had a good crowd, good food and fellowship. We are looking forward to a prosperous new year in 2018. I want to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you in January! From Membership Director Benny Chester Tip for the month: Be sure when you winterize your dredge...drain the water out of the pump! FOUND: A white Pokemon notebook at Christmas dinner. Call or text Judy 423-838-1373 MOORE FROM THE GOLD FIELDS: By Roger Moore I was an Air Force brat growing up and in the summer we would travel from Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa Florida, where we were stationed, to Dalton, Georgia to visit my grandparents. After about 30 minutes into the 10 hour trip. My brother and I started “Daddy, I got to pee.” He would look at us and say “You're just gonna have to wait.” We would drive on a few minutes and he would stop and we would pee. This happened every 30 minutes on the whole trip. Now, fast forward 50 years.... Dad now 75, I am driving us to Dahlonega to mine for gold for the weekend. He looks at me and says... “I got to pee.” I look over at him and say, “You're just gonna have to wait.” He sits back in the seat smiling ...... remembering. Of course I stopped as soon as possible.
