Compensation Background
It takes less time to edit speech recognized lines then to type a non-speech recognized line
Some national transcription services will pay one rate for traditionally transcribed lines and a different rate for edited lines
We have found these rates to average $.03-.04/edited line

Adjusted Lines & Conversion Factors Demystified
Amphion has chosen to pay its MTs one pay per line rateTriton MTs can edit 1 1/2 lines in the same amount of time as
they can traditionally type 1 line This is where the "conversion factor“ was derived from “Conversion factor” = 1.5 edited lines converts to 1 traditionally transcribed
line in Triton
• In order to pay one pay per line rate, the pay rate needs to take into account both edited lines and traditionally typed lines This is where the “adjusted line" was derived from "Adjusted lines“ = your traditional transcribed lines combined with your
converted-to-traditional edited lines.

What if Amphion paid two separate line rates?
If Amphion paid two separate line rateso a pay rate for traditional typed lineso a pay rate for edited lines
The compensation model would look like this o $0.090-.093/traditional line
$0.090 Quality level 1 98.8% to 99.1% $0.091 Quality level 2 99.2% to 99.5% $0.092 Quality level 3 99.6% to 99.9% $0.093 Quality level 4 100%
o $0.060-.063/edited line $0.060 Quality level 1 98.8% to 99.1% $0.061 Quality level 2 99.2% to 99.5% $0.062 Quality level 3 99.6% to 99.9% $0.063 Quality level 4 100%

We get the same results . . .
Example #1: 2 different line rates1000 lines typed x .09 = $90.001000 lines edited x .06 = $60.00Total dollars: $150.00
Example #2: Amphion’s 1 “adjusted” line rate using the “conversion” factor of 1.5 to 1
1000 edited lines divided by 1.5 = 667 lines (rounded up)1000 typed lines = 1000 linesTotal dollars: 1000 + 667 = 1667 "adjusted" lines x .09 = $150.03 *rounding difference
It results in the same pay whether you prefer to think of it as two
different pay rates or whether you use Amphion's adjusted line rate, conversion factor, and one pay rate
