نحيي نحن نحيي إنا نحن إناالموتىالموتى

Surely We give Surely We give life to the deadlife to the dead

قدموا ما قدموا ونكتب ما ونكتب وآثارهموآثارهم

We write down what We write down what they have sent they have sent

before and their before and their footprints,footprints,

أحصيناه شيء أحصيناه وكل شيء وكلمبين إمام مبين في إمام في

and We have and We have recorded everything recorded everything

in a clear writing.in a clear writing.

أصحاب ثال م لهم أصحاب واضرب ثال م لهم واضربجاءها إذ جاءها القرية إذ القرية

المرسلونالمرسلون

And set out to them an And set out to them an example of the people example of the people of the town, when the of the town, when the

messengers came to it.messengers came to it.

إليهم أرسلنا إليهم إذ أرسلنا إذفكذبوهما فكذبوهما اثنين اثنين

When We sent to them When We sent to them two, they rejected both two, they rejected both

فقالوا بثالث زنا فقالوا فعز بثالث زنا فعزمرسلون إليكم ا مرسلون إن إليكم ا إن

then We strengthened then We strengthened (them) with a third, so (them) with a third, so

they said: Surely we are they said: Surely we are messengers to you.messengers to you.

24

بشر إال أنتم ما بشر قالوا إال أنتم ما قالوامثلنامثلنا

They said: You are They said: You are naught but mortals naught but mortals

25

حمن الر أنزل حمن وما الر أنزل وماأنتم إن شيء أنتم من إن شيء من

تكذبون تكذبون إال إالnor has the Beneficent nor has the Beneficent

Allah revealed Allah revealed anything; you only lie.anything; you only lie.

إليكم إنا يعلم ربنا إليكم قالوا إنا يعلم ربنا قالوا لمرسلونلمرسلون

They said: Our Lord They said: Our Lord knows that we are most knows that we are most

surely messengers to surely messengers to you.you.

إال علينا وما إال علينا وماالمبين المبين البالغ البالغ

And nothing devolves And nothing devolves on us but a clear on us but a clear

deliverance (of the deliverance (of the message).message).

لئن بكم تطيرنا إنا لئن قالوا بكم تطيرنا إنا قالوالنرجمنكم تنتهوا لنرجمنكم لم تنتهوا لمعذاب نا م نكم عذاب وليمس نا م نكم وليمس

أئن معكم طائركم أئن قالوا معكم طائركم قالواقوم أنتم بل رتم قوم ذك أنتم بل رتم ذك

المدينة أقصى من المدينة وجاء أقصى من وجاءقوم يا قال يسعى قوم رجل يا قال يسعى رجل

المرسلين المرسلين اتبعوا اتبعواAnd from the remote part of And from the remote part of the city there came a man the city there came a man

ال من اتبعوا ال من اتبعواوهم أجرا وهم يسألكم أجرا يسألكم

هتدون هتدونم مFollow him who does not ask Follow him who does not ask you for reward, and they are you for reward, and they are

32

أعبد ال لي أعبد وما ال لي ومافطرني فطرني الذي الذي

ترجعون ترجعون وإليه وإليهAnd what reason have I And what reason have I that I should not serve that I should not serve

Him Who brought me into Him Who brought me into existence? And to Him you existence? And to Him you

shall be brought back;shall be brought back;

آلهة دونه من آلهة أأتخذ دونه من أأتخذيردن يردن إن إن

What! shall I take What! shall I take besides Him gods besides Him gods

whose intercessionwhose intercession

ي عن تغن ال بضر حمن ي الر عن تغن ال بضر حمن الرينقذون وال �ا شيئ ينقذون شفاعتهم وال �ا شيئ شفاعتهم

If the Beneficent Allah If the Beneficent Allah should desire to afflict me should desire to afflict me with a harm, shall not avail with a harm, shall not avail

me aught, nor shall they me aught, nor shall they be able to deliver me?be able to deliver me?

لفي إذا لفي إني إذا إنيبين م بين ضالل م ضالل

In that case I shall In that case I shall most surely be in most surely be in

clear errorclear error

36

بربكم آمنت بربكم إني آمنت إني فاسمعونفاسمعون

Surely I believe in Surely I believe in your Lord, therefore your Lord, therefore

hear me.hear me.

37

يا قال الجنة ادخل يا قيل قال الجنة ادخل قيليعلمون قومي يعلمون ليت قومي ليت

ربي لي غفر ربي بما لي غفر بمامن من وجعلني وجعلني المكرمينالمكرمين

من قومه على أنزلنا من وما قومه على أنزلنا وماماء الس ن م جند من ماء بعده الس ن م جند من بعده

منزلين كنا منزلين وما كنا وماAnd We did not send down And We did not send down upon his people after him upon his people after him

any hosts from heaven, nor any hosts from heaven, nor do We ever send down.do We ever send down.

صيحة إال كانت صيحة إن إال كانت إنخامدون هم فإذا خامدون واحدة هم فإذا واحدة

It was naught but It was naught but a single cry, and a single cry, and

lo! they were stilllo! they were still

41

ما العباد على حسرة ما يا العباد على حسرة يا إال سول ر من يأتيهم إال سول ر من يأتيهم

يستهزئون به يستهزئون كانوا به كانواAlas for the servants! Alas for the servants!

أهلكنا كم يروا أهلكنا ألم كم يروا ألمأنهم القرون ن م أنهم قبلهم القرون ن م قبلهم

يرجعون ال يرجعون إليهم ال إليهمDo they not consider how Do they not consider how many of the generations many of the generations

have We destroyed before have We destroyed before them, because they do not them, because they do not

turn to them?turn to them?

43

لدينا جميع ا لم كل لدينا وإن جميع ا لم كل وإن محضرونمحضرون

And all of them shall And all of them shall surely be brought surely be brought

before Us.before Us.

44

الميتة األرض لهم الميتة وآية األرض لهم وآيةمنها وأخرجنا منها أحييناها وأخرجنا أحييناها

يأكلون فمنه يأكلون حبا فمنه حباAnd a sign to them is the And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life dead earth: We give life

to it and bring forth from to it and bring forth from it grain SQ they eat of it.it grain SQ they eat of it.

45

من جنات فيها من وجعلنا جنات فيها وجعلنارنا وفج وأعناب رنا نخيل وفج وأعناب نخيل

العيون من العيون فيها من فيها

And We make therein And We make therein gardens of palms and gardens of palms and

grapevines and We make grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it,springs to flow forth in it,

46

وما ثمره من وما ليأكلوا ثمره من ليأكلواأفال أيديهم أفال عملته أيديهم عملته

يشكرونيشكرونThat they may eat of the That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their fruit thereof, and their

hands did not make it; will hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful?they not then be grateful?

47

األزواج خلق الذي األزواج سبحان خلق الذي سبحانومن األرض تنبت ا مم ومن كلها األرض تنبت ا مم كلها

يعلمون ال ا ومم يعلمون أنفسهم ال ا ومم أنفسهمGlory be to Him Who created Glory be to Him Who created

pairs of all things, of what pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not kind and of what they do not

knowknow

48

نسلخ الليل لهم نسلخ وآية الليل لهم وآيةهم فإذا النهار هم منه فإذا النهار منه

مظلمونمظلمون

And a sign to them is the And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth night: We draw forth

from it the day, then lo! from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark;they are in the dark;

تجري مس تجري والش مس والشتقدير ذلك لها تقدير لمستقر ذلك لها لمستقر

العليم العليم العزيز العزيز

And the sun runs on to a And the sun runs on to a term appointed for it; term appointed for it;

that is the ordinance of that is the ordinance of the Mighty, the Knowing.the Mighty, the Knowing.

منازل قدرناه منازل والقمر قدرناه والقمركالعرجون عاد كالعرجون حتى عاد حتى

القديمالقديم And (as for) the moon, We And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an till it becomes again as an

old dry palm branch.old dry palm branch.

51

أن لها ينبغي مس الش أن ال لها ينبغي مس الش السابق الليل وال القمر سابق تدرك الليل وال القمر تدرك

يسبحون فلك في وكل يسبحون النهار فلك في وكل النهارNeither is it allowable to the Neither is it allowable to the

sun that it should overtake the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night moon, nor can the night

outstrip the day; and all float outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere.on in a sphere.

حملنا أنا لهم حملنا وآية أنا لهم وآيةالفلك في يتهم الفلك ذر في يتهم ذر

المشحونالمشحون

And a sign to them is that And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in We bear their offspring in

the laden ship.the laden ship.

53

ثله م من لهم ثله وخلقنا م من لهم وخلقنايركبون يركبون ما ما

And We have created And We have created for them the like of it, for them the like of it, what they will ride on.what they will ride on.

54

فال نغرقهم نشأ فال وإن نغرقهم نشأ وإنهم وال لهم هم صريخ وال لهم صريخ

ينقذونينقذونAnd if We please, We can And if We please, We can

drown them, then there shall drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor be no succorer for them, nor

shall they be rescuedshall they be rescued

55

إلى ومتاعا نا م رحمة إلى إال ومتاعا نا م رحمة إال حينحين

But (by) mercy from But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment Us and for enjoyment

till a time.till a time.

56

ما اتقوا لهم قيل ما وإذا اتقوا لهم قيل وإذاخلفكم وما أيديكم خلفكم بين وما أيديكم بين

ترحمون ترحمون لعلكم لعلكمAnd when it is said to And when it is said to

them: Guard against what them: Guard against what is before you and what is is before you and what is behind you, that mercy behind you, that mercy

may be had on you.may be had on you.

57

من آية ن م تأتيهم ن وما م آية ن م تأتيهم وماعنها كانوا إال ربهم عنها آيات كانوا إال ربهم آيات

معرضينمعرضينAnd there comes not to them And there comes not to them

a communication of the a communication of the communications of their communications of their Lord but they turn aside Lord but they turn aside

from it.from it.

58

أنفقوا لهم قيل أنفقوا وإذا لهم قيل وإذاالله رزقكم ا الله مم رزقكم ا مم

And when it is said to And when it is said to them: Spend out of them: Spend out of

للذين كفروا الذين للذين قال كفروا الذين قاليشاء لو من أنطعم يشاء آمنوا لو من أنطعم آمنوا

اللهاللهthose who disbelieve say those who disbelieve say

to those who believe: to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, Shall we feed him whom,

if Allah please if Allah please

في إال أنتم إن في أطعمه إال أنتم إن أطعمهبين م بين ضالل م ضالل

He could feed? He could feed? You are in naught You are in naught

but clear error.but clear error.

61

هذا متى هذا ويقولون متى ويقولونصادقين كنتم إن صادقين الوعد كنتم إن الوعد

And they say: When will And they say: When will this threat come to pass, this threat come to pass,

if you are truthful?if you are truthful?

62

صيحة إال ينظرون صيحة ما إال ينظرون ماوهم تأخذهم وهم واحدة تأخذهم واحدة

مون مونيخص يخصThey wait not for aught but They wait not for aught but

a single cry which will a single cry which will overtake them while they overtake them while they

yet contend with one yet contend with one another.another.

63

توصية يستطيعون توصية فال يستطيعون فاليرجعون أهلهم إلى يرجعون وال أهلهم إلى وال

So they shall not be So they shall not be able to make a able to make a

bequest, nor shall they bequest, nor shall they return to their families.return to their families.

64

هم فإذا ور الص في هم ونفخ فإذا ور الص في ونفخربهم إلى األجداث ن ربهم م إلى األجداث ن م

ينسلونينسلونAnd the trumpet shall be And the trumpet shall be

blown, when lo ! from blown, when lo ! from their graves they shall their graves they shall hasten on to their Lord.hasten on to their Lord.

من بعثنا من ويلنا يا من قالوا بعثنا من ويلنا يا قالواحمن الر وعد ما هذا رقدنا حمن م الر وعد ما هذا رقدنا م

المرسلون المرسلون وصدق وصدقThey shall say: O woe to us! who They shall say: O woe to us! who

has raised us up from our has raised us up from our sleeping-place? This is what the sleeping-place? This is what the

Beneficent Allah promised and the Beneficent Allah promised and the messengers told the truth.messengers told the truth.

66

صيحة إال كانت صيحة إن إال كانت إنجميع هم فإذا جميع واحدة هم فإذا واحدة

محضرون محضرون لدينا لدينا

There would be naught There would be naught but a single cry, when but a single cry, when lo ! they shall all be lo ! they shall all be brought before Us;brought before Us;

نفس تظلم ال نفس فاليوم تظلم ال فاليومما إال تجزون وال ما شيئا إال تجزون وال شيئا

تعملون تعملون كنتم كنتمSo this day no soul shall be So this day no soul shall be

dealt with unjustly in the least; dealt with unjustly in the least; and you shall not be rewarded and you shall not be rewarded aught but that which you did.aught but that which you did.

في اليوم الجنة أصحاب في إن اليوم الجنة أصحاب إنفاكهون فاكهون شغل شغل

Surely the dwellers of the Surely the dwellers of the garden shall on that day garden shall on that day be in an occupation quite be in an occupation quite

happy.happy.

في وأزواجهم في هم وأزواجهم هماألرائك على األرائك ظالل على ظالل

متكؤونمتكؤون

They and their wives They and their wives shall be in shades, shall be in shades, reclining on raised reclining on raised

couches.couches.

70

ولهم فاكهة فيها ولهم لهم فاكهة فيها لهميدعون ا يدعون م ا م

They shall have fruits They shall have fruits therein, and they shall therein, and they shall

have whatever they have whatever they desire.desire.

أيها اليوم أيها وامتازوا اليوم وامتازوا المجرمونالمجرمون

And get aside And get aside today, O guilty today, O guilty

بني يا إليكم أعهد بني ألم يا إليكم أعهد ألمتعبدوا ال أن تعبدوا آدم ال أن آدمعدو لكم إنه يطان عدو الش لكم إنه يطان الشبين بينم م

Did I not charge you, O Did I not charge you, O children of Adam ! that children of Adam ! that

you should not serve the you should not serve the Shaitan? Surely he is Shaitan? Surely he is

your open enemy,your open enemy,

74

هذا اعبدوني هذا وأن اعبدوني وأنستقيم م ستقيم صراط م صراط

And that you And that you should serve Me; should serve Me; this is the right this is the right

way.way.

75

جبال منكم أضل جبال ولقد منكم أضل ولقدتكونوا أفلم تكونوا كثيرا أفلم كثيرا

تعقلونتعقلونAnd certainly he led astray And certainly he led astray

numerous people from numerous people from among you. What! could you among you. What! could you

not then understand?not then understand?

كنتم التي جهنم كنتم هذه التي جهنم هذه توعدونتوعدون

This is the hell This is the hell with which you with which you

were threatened.were threatened.

77

بما اليوم بما اصلوها اليوم اصلوهاتكفرون تكفرون كنتم كنتم

Enter into it this Enter into it this day because you day because you

disbelieved.disbelieved.

78

أفواههم على نختم أفواههم اليوم على نختم اليوموتشهد أيديهم وتشهد وتكلمنا أيديهم وتكلمنا

يكسبون كانوا بما يكسبون أرجلهم كانوا بما أرجلهمOn that day We will set a seal On that day We will set a seal upon their mouths, and their upon their mouths, and their hands shall speak to Us, and hands shall speak to Us, and

their feet shall bear witness of their feet shall bear witness of what they earned.what they earned.

على لطمسنا نشاء على ولو لطمسنا نشاء ولوفاستبقوا فاستبقوا أعينهم أعينهم

يبصرون فأنى راط يبصرون الص فأنى راط الصAnd if We please We would And if We please We would certainly put out their eyes, certainly put out their eyes, then they would run about then they would run about

groping for the way, but how groping for the way, but how should they see?should they see?

لمسخناهم نشاء لمسخناهم ولو نشاء ولوفما مكانتهم فما على مكانتهم على

وال مضيا وال استطاعوا مضيا استطاعوا يرجعونيرجعون

And if We please We would And if We please We would surely transform them in their surely transform them in their place, then they would not be place, then they would not be

able to go on, nor will they able to go on, nor will they return.return.

في سه ننك ره نعم في ومن سه ننك ره نعم ومنيعقلون أفال يعقلون الخلق أفال الخلق

وما عر الش علمناه وما وما عر الش علمناه وماذكر إال هو إن له ذكر ينبغي إال هو إن له ينبغي

ويحق حيا كان من ويحق لينذر حيا كان من لينذرالكافرين على الكافرين القول على القول

That it may warn him who That it may warn him who would have life, and (that) would have life, and (that) the word may prove true the word may prove true against the unbelievers.against the unbelievers.

لهم خلقنا أنا يروا لهم أولم خلقنا أنا يروا أولمأنعاما أيدينا عملت ا أنعاما مم أيدينا عملت ا مم

مالكون لها مالكون فهم لها فهمDo they not see that We have Do they not see that We have created cattle for them, out of created cattle for them, out of what Our hands have wrought, what Our hands have wrought,

so they are their masters?so they are their masters?

ركوبهم فمنها لهم ركوبهم وذللناها فمنها لهم وذللناهايأكلون يأكلون ومنها ومنها

And We have subjected them And We have subjected them to them, so some of them to them, so some of them

they have to ride upon, and they have to ride upon, and some of them they eat.some of them they eat.

منافع فيها منافع ولهم فيها ولهميشكرون أفال يشكرون ومشارب أفال ومشارب

And therein they have And therein they have advantages and drinks; advantages and drinks;

will they not then be will they not then be grateful?grateful?

أنا اإلنسان ير أنا أولم اإلنسان ير أولمفإذا نطفة من فإذا خلقناه نطفة من خلقناه

بين م خصيم بين هو م خصيم هوDoes not man see that We Does not man see that We have created him from the have created him from the

ونسي مثال لنا ونسي وضرب مثال لنا وضربيحيي من قال يحيي خلقه من قال خلقه

رميم وهي رميم العظام وهي العظامAnd he strikes out a likeness And he strikes out a likeness for Us and forgets his own for Us and forgets his own creation. Says he: Who will creation. Says he: Who will give life to the bones when give life to the bones when

من لكم جعل من الذي لكم جعل الذيفإذا نارا األخضر جر فإذا الش نارا األخضر جر الش

توقدون نه م توقدون أنتم نه م أنتمHe Who has made for you He Who has made for you the fire (to burn) from the the fire (to burn) from the green tree, so that with it green tree, so that with it

ماوات الس خلق الذي ماوات أوليس الس خلق الذي أوليسيخلق أن على بقادر يخلق واألرض أن على بقادر واألرض

العليم ق الخال وهو بلى العليم مثلهم ق الخال وهو بلى مثلهمIs not He Who created the Is not He Who created the

heavens and the earth able to heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Yea! create the like of them? Yea! and He is the Creator (of all), and He is the Creator (of all),

شيئا أراد إذا أمره شيئا إنما أراد إذا أمره إنمافيكون كن له يقول فيكون أن كن له يقول أن

His command, when His command, when He intends anything, He intends anything,
