We live in an exciting but perilous age. Man stands at the thresh old of a new "Golden Age" of technical achievement. A better life for all people of the world lies waiting to be taken. Yet we live in peril that man will exercise his awful powers to destroy himself and his world completely. Real hope for mankind lies in an enlightened education for all. My hope is that you who are students today, will achieve the goals of freedom and a better life for all men as you take advantage of the promise that education holds for you.
