It’s a common sentiment among children riding in the back seat, but you may be surprised to learn that it’s also
the way we approach making cars here at Hyundai. We’re always asking ourselves if our vehicles are as good as they
can possibly be. Are the engines smooth enough? Is the design stylish enough? Is the performance inspiring
enough? Are the emissions low enough? Is the vehicle safe enough? In the end, the answer is yes. And no. Because
as proud as we are of our vehicles, as impressively as they perform, as handsomely as they’re styled and as safe as
they unquestionably are, we’re simply never satisfied. As a driver, you deserve nothing less. Think about it.

They both seat seven, but the Veracruz bests its German counterpart in the comfort
department, offering more room for important things like arms, shoulders, legs and
heads. It also boasts 60/40 split seats to stow more cargo. And with a sticker that’s
around 13 grand less, you’ll notice there’s definitely less empty space in your wallet.

What does a warranty say about a car? Well to us, it says we have the utmost
confidence in its quality, so much so that we’re willing to stand behind our
vehicles long after you’ve driven off the dealer’s lot. Long enough, in fact, for your
know-it-all high-school senior to graduate and return as a know-it-all M.D.

It’s difficult to know these days, with car makers claiming to have
“The Best Coverage in America” or “The Best Warranty Coverage in the
Business.” Fact is, there is no manufacturer that offers a standard warranty
matching Hyundai’s (and we’ve had it for 10 years), which means when we
say we have America’s Best Warranty,1 the word “best” means, well, best.

ElEcTRonic BRaKE-foRcE disTRiBuTion
You never know where you’ll be when you have to stop quickly – a major thoroughfare, a rain-soaked mountain road, a dirt trail. EBD uses a network of sensors to provide the braking pressure at each wheel based on load dynamics, road condition and speed.
TRacTion conTRol
Wet pavement may have met its match. Veracruz’s advanced Traction Control System senses unexpected wheelspin during acceleration, then automatically applies the appropriate combination of brakes and throttle, routing power to the tire with the most traction. This helps you maintain control in slippery driving conditions.1
anTi-locK BRaKEs
Unfortunately, wet roads and sudden stops are an unavoidable part of everyday driving. ABS prevents wheel lock-up and helps you maintain steering control during emergency braking situations by rapidly pulsing the brakes so you can maneuver yourself out of harm’s way.
BRaKE assisT
Statistics show that drivers often don’t brake hard enough in emergency situations. Brake Assist senses a panic stop and immediately applies the maximum braking pressure to stop you in the shortest distance. Sometimes a few extra feet make all the difference.
1 The Traction control system (Tcs) is meant to enhance conscientious driving habits and is not a substitute for safe driving practices. 2Electronic stability control (Esc) cannot control your vehicle’s stability under all driving situations. Esc is not a substitute for safe driving practices. no system, no matter how advanced, can overcome physics or correct poor driving. The driver is always responsible for controlling the vehicle and must use caution to avoid loss of control in all driving conditions. speed, road conditions and driver steering input will affect whether Esc can help prevent loss of control. see owner’s manual for details.

Because you never know when an emergency situation is around the bend, every Veracruz
comes equipped with Electronic Stability Control.2 It constantly monitors things such
as wheel speed, steering angle and lateral g-forces. When it senses a skid is imminent, it
adjusts brake and throttle input to help keep you safely on your intended path.

You wouldn’t build a house on a shaky foundation. Same goes for cars. That’s why we build the
Veracruz with reinforced unibody construction made from high-tensile steel to effectively absorb
collision energy. We’ve also engineered it with rear crumple zones, bodyside reinforcements and
hood-buckling creases to protect you in an impact from any direction.
acTivE fRonT hEad REsTRainTs
Whiplash is one of the most common injuries in rear collisions. This feature moves the head restraints forward upon impact, reducing the likelihood of a neck injury.
sEaTBElT PRETEnsionERs
Pretensioners tighten seatbelts in certain accidents to limit the front occupants’ forward movement. Force limiters then release slack to reduce the load across the body, which helps minimize injury.
TiRE PREssuRE moniToRing sysTEm
Each of the Veracruz’s wheels is equipped with an air-pressure sensor. When the pressure of any tire falls below its optimal level, a warning light on the instrument panel alerts you that a tire is low, helping you avoid dangerous situations that could arise from driving on an underinf lated tire.2
1 The supplemental Restraint system (sRs) is designed to work with the 3-point seatbelt system. The sRs deploys in certain frontal and/or side-impact conditions where significant injury is likely. The sRs is not a substitute for seatbelts, which should be worn at all times. children under the age of 13 should be restrained securely in the rear seat. nEvER place a rear-facing child seat in the front seat of a vehicle that has a passenger-side airbag. 2 TPms is not a substitute for proper maintenance. see owner’s manual for details. spare tire does not include TPms sensor.

BuilT To lasT
Ever wonder how we can afford to offer America’s Best Warranty? Well, it’s
because the Hyundai you buy today is among the most painstakingly
manufactured automobiles in the world. Read on below and you’ll learn just
a few of the reasons why we have so much confidence in the cars we build.
lasER fiT & finish TEsTs
In our Asan plant, specially designed lasers slowly pass over and scan car body panels, searching for f laws and inconsistencies in either panel gaps or alignment that are invisible to the human eye. This ensures perfect fit and finish before any car leaves the factory.
laRgE and in chaRgE
Our Ulsan plant, where the Veracruz is built, is the largest automotive manufacturing plant in the world. It has five assembly plants and seven engine facilities, and employs 34,000 people. It also boasts an environmentally friendly waste water and sewage treatment plant.
hands-on qualiTy chEcKs
We hand check nuts, bolts, cables, wiring and power components before any Hyundai ever leaves the plant. Then every vehicle is road tested to eliminate squeaks and rattles that can’t be detected on the factory f loor. The result? A f lawless car delivered to you.
09 vERacRuz _ manufacturiing
six sigmas=fEWER dEfEcTs
The Six Sigma Process is a manufacturing practice designed to improve processes by eliminating defects. Originally designed for the electronics industry, we adapted it for use in automobile manufacturing. The result? Less than 3.4 defects per 1 million units.
RoBoTs and PEoPlE
Generally, our robots handle repetitive, physical tasks, like welding and painting. People, on the other hand, inspect the robots’ work for things they may overlook. Which means we always pick the best person for the job, even when that person isn’t one.
TEsTEd To ThE ExTREmEs
From the scorching heat of Death Valley’s deserts to the frozen tundra of Central Canada, our automobiles are tested in the most extreme conditions on the planet Earth to ensure their performance never wavers, because you never know what life will throw your way.
