    RECAP: Starter Taijuan Walker tossed a complete game 4-hit shutout as Tacoma defeated Oklahoma City 2-0 on Tuesday night. Walk(9.0,4,0,0,1,8) recorded his 2nd win of the season, allowing only 4 hits while walking 1 and striking out 8 in 9.0 innings. It was Walkers 2career complete game (also: 7/13/11 vs. Great Lakes w/Clinton; 9.0,2,2,2,1,7,HR), but first career shutout. Walker is the first Rainiepitcher to toss a 9.0 inning shutout since left-hander James Paxton accomplished the feat at Tucson on July 8, 2013.1B Justin Smo(1x4, R, 2B), LF Xavier Nady(1x3, HR, 2 RBI), 2B Ty Kelly (1x3), C Jesus Sucre(1x3) and 3B Leury Bonilla(1x3) each recorded 1

He was placed on 15-day disabled lwith a strained left quad June 11 (retro to 6/10). Smoak had appeared in Seattles first 63 games of the season prior to missing the gamon June 10. In 63 games, he is hitting .208 (45x216) with 26 runs, 12 doubles, 7 home runs and 29 RBI this season.

    SAUNDERS ON REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Michael Saundersbegan his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on June 20. In 5 rehastarts with Tacoma, he is batting .450 (9x20) with 5 runs scored, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 7 RBI and 1 walk. Saunders was placeon 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation following the game on June 11. He had appeared in 52 games with Seattle thseason, batting .272 (40x147) with 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 25 RBI. Saunders left the game June 6 after two at-bats, and hplayed just one game since (June 10, 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts). In 16 games from May 16 to June 3, Saunders hit .368 (21-for-57) withdoubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs, 18 RBI and a .391 on-base percentage (1.040 OPS).

    HART ON REHAB ASSIGNMENT: OF Corey Hartbegan his rehab assignment with AAA Tacoma on June 21. In 4 rehab starts wTacoma, he is batting .294 (5x17) with 1 double, 1 triple and 1 RBI. Hart, 32, was removed from May 18 vs. the Minnesota Twins withstrained left hamstring. He was evaluated by Mariners Medical Director Dr. Edward Khalfayan the following day in Seattle, where he wdiagnosed with a grade 2 hamstring strain. In 37 games this season Hart was batting .209 (29x139) with 5 doubles, 5 home runs and 1RBI. He missed the entire 2013 season after undergoing a pair of knee surgeries.

    COACHING STAFF: Roy Howellis the 29th manager in Tacoma franchise history. Howell is in his third season coaching in the Marineorganization after two seasons as the hitting coach at Class-A Advanced High Desert. His managerial resume includes 3 seasons at shoseason Eugene (2003-05), 3 seasons with San Luis of the California Collegiate League (2007-10) and one season leading the field staff fthe Road Warriors of the independent Atlantic League (2011). A former first-round selection by Texas in the 1972 draft, Howell logged timin the PCL as a player with Spokane (1974) and Portland (1985), as well as three seasons as a hitting coach with Portland (2000-0Pitching coach Jaime Navarro, who is entering his 6th season with the Mariners organization, returns to the Rainiers after spending thlast 3 seasons as the Mariners bullpen coach.
