2012...Selected by the Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2010 draft...Attended Adelphi University (NY).

EXTRA SPECIAL: The Fightin Phils improved to 4-1 in extra innings with last night's 9-8, 10-inning win over the

Sea Dogs...The 4 extra-inning victories are tied for the Eastern League lead...It was the largest comeback win

for the club this season...Previously, the team came back from a 4-0 deficit on 5/11 to beat Akron 7-5...It was

Reading's 3rd win when trailing after 8 innings, tying the Fightins for 2nd-most wins in the league when trailing

    after 8.

MURPHY'S LAW: Jim Murphy set single-game season highs in RBIs (4) and total bases (10) for a Reading

batter and he matched single-game season highs in home runs (2) and runs scored (3) after going 4-for-4 last

night...It was the 5th multi-homer game as well as the 5th 4-hit game in his career, his first for both since

2011...The 27-year-old is tied for 2nd in the league in home runs (13) and he ranks 8th in RBIs (43)...Murphy is

one of only 4 batters in the league hitting at least .300 with 10-plus home runs and 40-plus RBIs.

WHAT A RELIEF: Since giving up 3 runs in the 7th inning 6/13 against Bowie, the Reading bullpen has allowed

just 1 run over its last 24.2 innings (0.36 ERA), striking out 23 batters...The team is 6-1 over that stretch.
