School Supply Drive for St. Lawrence PlaceEastminster Girl Scout Troop 2251 has worked for several
years to support St. Lawrence Place, a safe haven for families where children get a fresh start, and have a home while find-ing work and developing life skills. We have been awarded the Silver Award, the highest award in the Cadette Girl Scout level. We assembled eight shelving units to be used in the apartments for the full time resident families and would like to fill them with childrens books and school supplies. Would you please help us collect these items? Your donations can be deposited in the labeled boxes located in the entrance lobbies of the CLC, Thompson Hall and the Education Building. Supplies will be collected through July 31.
PEaCE Service - July 12, 5:00 P.M. The PEACE Service offers you a place to come away and be quiet before the Lord. It is a service where we pray for all kinds of needs and celebrate the Lords Supper together. If you desire a quiet place of worship, join us at 5:00 p.m. in the Adult Reception Hall. During the summer if you will need childcare, please contact Croskeys ([email protected]).
Front Desk Volunteer needed Do you have time on Thursdays or Fridays you would like to share with the church? We are looking for a friendly face to greet our guests and answer the phone on Thursdays or Fridays from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Call Tricia at 256-1654 if you would like to volunteer any day of the week! We can always use your help!
TRaNSITIONSEPC will prepare and serve dinner for the 200 residents
at Transitions Homeless Recovery Center on Thursday, July 16, and August 20. Children as young as 10 are allowed to serve with their family. Make Transitions a family goal for the summer! Each month we prepare pasta salad (recipe provided), homemade pound cakes and bananas. Our servers meet at the church at 4:30 and return by 6:30. Please contact Laura Long at [email protected] to help. Thank you!
Peanut Butter Sunday, June 28Harvest Hope reminds us each summer that their food
supply cannot keep up with the demand. Check out your lo-cal grocer for their BOGO deals on peanut butter and other canned goods, and remember to pick them up while you are doing your weekly shopping and bring them to church with you.
