As I sit down to write my last letter as your president, I look back at the year with fondness and pride. I have had a fabulous group of ladies to work with this board year. They have put their hearts into making this a fabulous year for the BOSC and it shows. From fabulous socials and events to a great website and newsletter complete with wonderful photos to fantastic member services and an over-the-top scholarship program, there are many things they have accomplished. They have pulled together, lent a hand and made a difference here at Barksdale. They have a lot to be proud of and it has been my honor to serve with them.

Of course, I think our members are the best! It has been a privilege to get to know many of you better. To be invited into your homes and to share the joys of life with you has left me with many memories to treasure. Your smiles and words of encouragement were always appreciated and your generosity is unsurpassed. Because of you, preliminary estimates show that we were able to raise over $7000 at our spring charity auction! This will go a long way in supporting charities and organizations here at Barksdale and within the local community. This

also helped us increase our scholarship program. I am excited to let you know that we were able to give away twelve scholarships this year to deserving individuals. All of you should be proud of the differences you helped to make in many lives here.

The last social before our summer break is brought to us by the spouses of the 8th Air Force. I know it will be a fun one! We will also be voting on and inducting our new executive board. Please join me in welcoming them! I’m sure it will be another wonderful year for the BOSC!

ANNUAL BOSC CHARITY AUCTIONA special thank you to everyone who attended, donated, or helped plan our Fourth Annual BOSC Charity Auction! We are very please to announce that these efforts were a complete success!
