Pier 21 is a former immigration shed on the Halifax waterfront, which welcomed one million immigrants between 1928 and 1971. During the Second World War almost 500,000 Canadian service personnel left from Pier 21 for service overseas. Pier 21 is a symbol of diversity and an icon of national importance illustrating how Canada has been shaped by the world.

In 2010, the Government of Canada named Pier 21 as only the second national museum outside of the capital region. Now known as the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, the museum tells the broader story of immigration from first contact to present day, as well as the impact of immigration across the country. pier21.ca

Country’sComing East

Country Music Week is coming to Halifax in September 2015. We’re looking forward to hosting artists, industry executives and fans from across the country. Four days, over 20 events, one amazing city. It’s been 30 years since we last hosted the celebration. It’s going to be big. And you’re invited.
