PARISH NEWS

Dear Parishioners and Friends: This past friday we celebrated the graduation of 24 of the brightest, most talented young men and women in this city. They are the Class of 2016 from the School of the Blessed Sacrament. The graduates are: Emmanuel Amoah Jr, Robert Betancourt, Tatiana Brown, Patrick Cross, Lola Echevarria, Randy Fulton, Brandon Johnson, Florintna Kolic, Keiji Lohier, Bryan Madison, Narlvin Martinez-Cruz, Emily Minihan, Tre-Lawn Noel, Osei Owusu-Afriyie, Adrian Peguero, Jennifer Robayo, Keyci Rodriguez, Nicolas Rowe, Leo Samuel, Malachi Solomon, Sa’Maya Solomon, Michael Suarez Jr, Chanel Torres, and Spencer Villanueva. I am a big supporter of Catholic education. Catholic school graduates have a higher high school graduation rate and go on to college in record numbers. Please join me in supporting our parish school. And I join our principal, Caroline Sliney, in the belief that financial need is not a barrier to Catholic education. We still have three openings in both 5th and 6th grades. Contact Ms. Sliney if you're interested in getting a Catholic education for your youngsters. Please keep John Harney, our summer seminarian, in your prayers. He broke his arm last week and had surgery on Tuesday. He's doing well I hope you're enjoying your summer. Pray for peace in this Year of Mercy. Fr. Duffell

The flowers that beautifully decorate the sanctuary have been offered by Ryan Chamberlain & Christina Papi.

The donation is made in thanks to Blessed Sacrament's RCIA program and in celebration of their marriage on June 10, 2017.

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other.

Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time June 12th, 2016

Padre Duffell

Finance Committee Corner Last Sunday $7,291 was received in the offertory

baskets at Mass and $3,389 was received through Parish Pay, for a total of $10,680. However, the weekly

operating costs to run our parish, such as salaries, benefits, utilities, office and program expenses, etc., are

approximately $20,000. This means we had an operating deficit of $9,320 this week.

Our second collection for the National Black and Indian Missions totaled $2,101.00. Thank you.

Please try to increase your weekly gifts so that we can eliminate our operating deficit. And please consider

signing up for Parish Pay There is no cost to participate in the program. You may log onto www.parishpay.com or

call 1866-727-4741 ext.1 to sign up.
