NED Wow. Do you think we can get a discount?

TODD I hope so, or else I don’t know why I took the job.

MACK Aren’t they paying you?

TODD Oh, no. I forgot to ask about that.

WAITER Could I interest you in some appetizers?

MACK I would like a mixed green salad.

TODD Soup for me, please.

NED Me too.

WAITER And for your entree?

TODD I can’t decide whether I want pasta, chicken, or fish. Pasta, chicken, or fish...

MACK I’m going to starve while he’s deciding.

SURVIVAL ENGLISH

CINDY Hey guys, how was lunch? I had a great time with Alexis.

MACK That’s no surprise, you two are practically joined at the hip.

CINDY That’s a strange thing to say.

MACK No, I mean, you two are really close, like sisters.

TODD I’d like to be joined at the hip with Alexis.

CINDY Todd!

TODD No, I mean, she’s a great girl, I’d like to spend time with her.

CINDY Todd, do you think you could set up the table for dinner?

TODD Sure.

MACK It seems kind of early, are we eating soon?

CINDY No, but I figured if I ask him now, it’ll be ready by the time we’re ready to eat.

MACK Good thinking.

STREET TALKMACK So Todd has some big, fancy clients who are thinking of buying a restaurant.

Yet, somehow don’t have the money to pay Todd.NED I’d really like to have a discount at the restaurant.

TODD Yes, hello, it’s Todd. Yes, from the restaurant. I did a lot of research today. I even brought in a couple of associates to consult. Right! That Todd. Okay, so I have a huge idea for you. Advertise. Hello? Yes, I’m here. You’re there? No, that was the idea. Advertise. Hello? Hello?
