WHAT PREVIOUS ATTENDEES HAD TO SAY:“This was a well-organised, informative event. Being a small group the level of interaction was hugely benecial.”

“Well done, African Inuence Exchange! The course was very benecial, we learned a lot and consolidated the knowledge that we already had on the applicability of the law that applies in Zimbabwe.”

“Once in a lifetime opportunity to listen to, learn from and pick the brains of top industry players in Zimbabwe.”

The Government of Ghana has placed signicant eorts into growing the renewable energy sector. In order to achieve this, the Renewable Energy Act, 2011 was passed as well as the Energy Commission Regulations on Local Content. These acts and regulations aim to create an enabling regulatory environment to attract private sector involvement in the development, management and utilisation of renewable energy in an ecient and environmentally sustainable manner. Additionally, the law has created an enabling environment for investment with various incentives in place and funding assistance available. Local participation is a key driver in order to enhance employment among the Ghanaian populace, promote business opportunities and generate revenue for Ghana.

However, companies currently operating in the sector, as well as new entrants are facing challenges with regards to the licensing process and procedures, local content compliance and reporting, and general clarity of the act and regulations.

During this exclusive masterclass, we will provide clarity on the Act, Regulations and Policies that govern the renewable energy industry in Ghana, including the Renewable Energy Act, Local Content Regulations and Tax regime .
