God made everything. God made all things to worship Him. We, as humans, decided
to not do things Gods way, but to worship other things instead o worshiping the one
true God. God chose to remedy this sin. He sent Jesus, His only Son, to live a perect lie.
He then died on a cross or our sins, was buried, and rose on the third day Jesus lie
and death and resurrection allow us to worship God rightly again, orever.

Your ministry as a teacher or our Lord has eternal value! When we view our ministry in light o
eternity, we see its importance and the privilege that God has entrusted to us. In Psalm 78, the
Bible also reminds us o this great calling: One generation commending the Gospel to the next.

Every relationship begins with an introduction. God introducing Himsel to us is the heartbeat o
this study.
God on Display is a major theme that runs throughout all o Scripture. Gods desire to have com-
munion with those He created is seen rom cover to cover o the Bible. In the rst ew pages, we see
God communing in the Garden o Eden with Adam and Eve. The theme o communion continues
to be seen through the role o the Old Testament tabernacle and temple. In the New Testament,
God became incarnate in Jesus, God with us. Ater Jesus, the Father gives the Holy Spirit to believers
and institutes the Church. Fellowship in the Church breeds community, both with God and othersmade in His likeness. As believers, we are guaranteed that we will spend eternity in communion
with God, dwelling in His presence.
God is on display: everywhere; in the past, present and uture; and in our lives as believers. Let us
live continually to display Gods greatness and love.

People oten ask the question, Who made
that? When we sees the beauty o the Sistine
Chapel, we wonder about the painters and
o their inspiration or their work. When we
see a nice car, we inquire as to the make and
model. Many o us know the name brands
o clothes and home technology equipment
just by their logo or design. What about the
vastness o the ocean and its rereshing waves? The size and grandeur o Everest? The stars,
space and wonder o innity? Laughter as
we look into a childs ace? The rst words o
Scripture introduce us to the One who made
that. Who made that? In the beginning God cre-
ated the heaven and earth.
All that came into being existsfor Christthat is, everything exists to
display the greatness of Christ. Nothing
nothing!in the universe exists for its own sake.

top of the mountains, from the smallest particle to
the biggest star, from the most boring school sub-

gOd CREaTEd OuT OF nOThIng.Without orm and void. Basically, nothing. That is how God
created everything, ex nihilo (Latin), meaning rom nothing, or the Hebrew word bara meaning
out o nothing. This term is oten used when speaking o how God made the entire universe.
Christians believe by aith that God created out o nothing due to the act that i anything else
had existed with God beore creation, then those things could rival God in His being. The Bible
states He is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4).

Gospel Truths About Man
gOd CREaTEd ThROugh hIs WORd.
God didnt need anything else to help Him
create. There was nothing else, so He literallyspoke everything into existence. This very act
displays Gods control, His ultimate power and
His reign over all His creation.
gOd susTaIns hIs CREaTIOn. This word,
sustain, is called Providence. Providence
means that He is in control or over thecreated orderall that we see and dont see
everything that is. That is Gods right as God.
He created all things, and He keeps all things in
their specic order.
John 1:1-3: In the beginningwas the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. He was in the beginning
with God. All things were made through Him,and without Him was not any thing made that
was made.
The supremacy o the word oGod in the world goes back to creation. All crea-

Man was created to be in a relationship with God. God did not have to create anything. He wasunique and independent beore creation. He chose out o His reedom to create man, in His image,

Gospel Truths About Redemption
Beore He established the oundations o the world, God knew that the creation He reely choose
to create would need rescuing (Acts 2:23). He knew He would need to send Christ to make the
relationship right. Christ, the only Son o God, who was present at creation, was oered on our
behal to make right the relationship with the Creator.

Worship the Lord through song, prayer, journaling, praising Him, reading the Bible, or exploring
His creation with active thoughts o praise and adoration.
Prayer Points:
Pray that you would receive a fresh glimpse of the sovereign God who is in control of all things.
Pray that your students would know that God speaks to themnot only through creation but
also through everything they see.

Ery arriv activity: (10-15 minutes or until all the children arrive)
At the beginning o the classroom time, try starting with the lights o i the classroom does not
become too dark. Instruct the children to make light and dark pictures. On one side o a piece o
construction paper, have the children draw a sun, tree, fowers, etc. On the other side, instruct the
children to color it darkly and include the moon, stars, etc. Younger children can use crayons or mark-
ers. Older children can use scissors, tape, dierent colors o construction paper, stickers, etc.

Bibe story Tie: (15 minutes)
Teacher Note: Ask the children to listen as you read the Bible story and explain the importance o Gods
Word, the Bible, being the very words God speaks to us. The Bible is truth and is used to help us know
God better. Read Genesis 1:1-2:3. Explain the story as you read. One thing you can do to keep young-
er children engaged is give them a piece o construction paper and have them draw as they listen.
Ask them to draw things that represent what you are saying God created.

Repetition is key (and creativity) as you encourage the children to memorize Psalm 150:6. You say,
Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord! Then have each child ll in the blank: Let every
_________ that has breath praise the Lord! Examples may include the ollowing: Let every bird that
has breath praise the Lord! or Let every dog that has breath praise the Lord! End this activity by ask-
ing all the children to stand up and shout, Let ALL OF US praise the Lord!

Reiorceet activity: (10 minutes)
Let each child have a lea, trace it, or rub chalk over the piece o paper and object to make a rubbing.
The children can do this several times to make a collage o leaves. This may require teacher
assistance or the younger children.
Supplies Needed: Leaves, markers, chalk, construction paper
activity: (10 minutes)
Children will enjoy making hand trees to remind them that God created the treesand them.
Cover the table with newspapers. Then have the children take the edge o their hand and dip it in
brown paint and then press their hand down on a piece o cardstock paper. This will be the trunk
o the tree. Wipe their hands o. Then have them dip their hands palms down, ngers spread in
green paint, and press down on the paper as the leaves or branches o the tree. Wipe their hands o.Allow time or this crat to dry.
Teacher Note: This activity will work or younger children but will require more adult supervision. Be
patient; it will be messy!
Supplies Needed: Green and brown ngerpaint (or washable paint), cardstock hal sheets,

Center play or ree play is an eective use o time i there is no playground available or i the
weather is not conductive to playing outside.
Another option is to create a God Is Good place mat. Give each o the children a piece o
cardstock or construction paper. Have them decorate it with things that show Gods goodness.
Examples: God is good in giving us ood. God is good in giving us a house to live in. God is good
in giving us riends. God is good in sending Jesus to die on the cross.

Work again on the hand trees crat. Ask the children to decorate their trees with birds,
branches, tree house drawings, etc. As they are decorating, share that God not only created
trees or our enjoyment but God also created us to enjoy Him. Ask them to think about how
they will enjoy God this week. Some examples may include praying at home, beore din-
ner, or beore they go to bed; reading the Bible with their amily; or looking at creation and
thanking God or it every time they go outside.
Prayer Time: (5 minutes)
Use todays prayer as one o gratitude to God or creating all things or our good. Start out the
prayer time and then have all the children say one thing they are thankul or that shows Gods
goodness to them. This allows children to learn how to thank God or everything.

Ery arriv activity: (10-15 minutes or until all the children arrive)
Create a paper plate sh. This is an excellent activity to do as children arrive because they can
nish the project later in the class while you reinorce the creation story. Children will discover that
a paper plate makes a great sh. Simply cut a wedge or quarter out o the plate (this empty place
on the plate becomes the shs mouth) and then tape or staple it on the plate or the shs tail. Next,
draw or glue on the wiggly eyes and let the children decorate their sh.
Supplies Needed: A paper plate for each child, wiggly eyes, scissors, tape or glue, markers

Global Vision: Have the children sit in a close circle with a globe (best option), an atlas in the middle

Psalm 150:6 says, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! This means everything. Have
the children talk about how they praise God (by singing, giving, obeying, talking, etc.). Share withthem how other things that God created praise Him too. For example, when a lion roars (ask the
children to roar like a lion), his roar is a praise to God. Then say, Let everything that has breath
praise the Lord! Keep going, getting ideas rom the children, or use other examples like cows,
ducks, birds, dogs, cats or horses.

Teacher Note: Place the alphabet letters around the room beore class begins.
Play the Alphabet Creation Game. Write out the letters o the alphabet on dierent
pieces o paper and then place them around your room or area. Give each child a pencil orcrayon and direct them to stop at each letter and write down something God created that

Discuss Deism with the students by using the Deism resource page (see resources). Figure A shows
a biblical model o the relation o God to creation. This model shows how God is clearly above and
distinct rom His creation, but He is always involved in His creation. Creation is dependent on God
or lie, sustainment and order. Figure B shows a Deists point o view. Deists believe in God, but
they believe He has a hands-o approach to His creation. In other words, creation is on its own tosurvive and exist.
Help your students to understand the implications these world views have on their lives and the
great dierence between the two. How would their lives be aected by a Deist worldview? Would
they worry more or have more ears? What about the weight o responsibility or their actions? As
a Deist, would they eel more reedom? As Christian teens, how does the knowledge that God is or
them aect their lives?

Share prayer requests about situations the students are concerned about in their own lives.
This can be done in pairs, groups or as a group as a whole. Younger students might preer toshare as a group; older students might nd praying together with just one or two better.
Remind the students that we can trust Scripture to be true because it is the very Word o God
and that God does all He says.
Deism is the view that God is not now directly involvedin the creation . . . Deism generally holds that God created the universe and is far
greater than the universe . . . They [Deists] deny Gods present involvement in the
world, thus leaving no place for His immanence in the created order. Rather, God is
viewed as a divine clock maker who wound up the clock of creation at the beginning

in effect, practical deists, since they live lives almost totally devoid of genuine prayer,
worship, fear of God, or moment-by-moment trust in God to care for needs that arise.

Parents are the means that Godwants to use to reach our children. This means that
we are responsible to reach our children for Christ.

God spared no expense. He went to great lengths through the act o creation to reveal Himsel.
However, creation and all its details, majesty and beauty is not the ocal point o Genesis 1. In-
stead, it is paramount that we understand that the worship o God is essential. Romans 1:25 says
that some have turned rom God and began to worship and serve what God created rather than
Him, the One who created.
We see the importance o this stressed in the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:2-3: I am the
Lord your God . . . You shall have no other gods beore Me.
