Locate Objects on the Map

Open a network tree in Navigator byclicking the small triangle on the leftside of the objects

Use popup menu to Locate a site or cell on

MapAn object in the map can also be located inthe Navigator

Supported objects for Locate on Map

• BSC / RNC/LTE-NW• Site

• Cell / WCEL/ LNCEL

• BTS/LNBTS

• Adjacencies

User-specific modification of Navigatorlabels:Options->Preferences : CM Labels





Map: Zoom

The map view can be zoomedwith a mouse scroll function

• Scroll forward: Zoom In

• Scroll backwards: Zoom Out

Map View can be panned withright mouse button drag and drop

Double click an object on the map tocenter the view on that object

The width of the visible area is

indicated below the mapTooltips indicate the functions





Map: Autoload

Objects are automatically loaded into Map if the range issmaller than loading threshold.

The default threshold is 200km.

Indicator icon shows if automatic loading is enabled

Enabled Disabled

Click the indicator icon to change the loading threshold





Map: Adjacencies

Use cell popup menu to show or hideadjacenciesfor the selected cell(s)

Bidirectional lines divided in the middle

Exercise

Locate cells and sites on the map

• Try to locate several objects at once

Try zooming and panning with a mouse...• ... and with map toolbar buttons

Select a cell and view the adjacencies

• Are there any unidirectional adjacencies?

Open the Visualization Pane and the Default Colors dialog

Create a new cell group

Change the minimum and maximum size of site and cell iconsChange adjacency color settings

Bookmarks

Bookmarks can be used to store map locations and zoomfactors

OptimizerDefaultBookmark stores the last view in exit





Polygons

Polygons can be used• to limit the optimisation

scope

• to define work areas

• for visualisation purposes

• to select objects in an area

• to list sites to the Browser

Click every corner point anddouble click to end polygon

Click to selection arrow when

all polygons have beencreated





Polygon Management

Select polygon and use buttons toLocate on Map, List Sites to Browser or Delete

Double clicking allows you to rename the polygon

Editing coordinates is not possible





Exercise

Create yourself bookmarks e.g. “work area” and “my site”

• Go to another area and return by using the bookmark

Create polygons and change the name
