• Komposit alam (natural composites) : kayu, tulang, bamboo, otot dll • Komposit buatan: Glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP), metal matrix composite
(MMC)
• Berdasarkan Strukturnya: • Microcomposite materials (Metallic alloy): steel thoughneted thermoplastics, sheet
moulding compound reinforced thermoplastics • Macrocomposites (engineering products): Galvanised steel, reinforced concret
beam, helicopter blade
• Berdasarkan geometri penguatnya: • komposit partikel (Particulate Composite) • Komposit serat (Fibrous komposit)
• Berdasarkan susunannya: • Single layer (Lamina) • Multilayers (Laminated composites)
