Writer’s Warm-upGrab your Writer’s Notebooks for the following warm-up:

Create a short story that includes the following: Setting: A society that does not have

any television, video games, cell phones, wifi, etc. (Cars and house phones are the extent of technology.)

Character: Bored child who wishes life wasn’t just so boring.

Other: A watchdog and a toll booth.

Milo thinks life is VERY BORING. Until the tollbooth shows up in

his house and he is able to go to the Island of Conclusions (you get there by jumping).

Learns about time from a ticking watch dog named Tock.

Embarks on a quest to rescue Rhyme and Reason (two twins who like to rhyme and reason with each other).

Very “punny” – A favorite!

done. Read silently until the class is done.
