Revision – A way to Group Large Number of Orders
Revision in Plant Maintenance terminology means A period of time during which a plant or a part of a plant is temporarily shut down for service and maintenance tasks, so that service- or maintenance work can be performed
With LOG_EAM_POM business function enabled in EhP2, following enhanced features of Revision are available. These features enables simplified maintenance planning and execution
1. Revision can include reference technical object for which the shut down activities are being planned
2. Allows Assignment of WBS or network to a revision and allows smooth integration between maintenance event and a Project based maintenance (Please note that assignment of revision to a Project is an optional step).
3. Allows setting up of different type of revision and each type of revision can have its own number range
4. Allows set up of a system and user status for revision for easy reporting and control
5. Allows monitoring of all the changes using Change Documents

Revision – What Needs to be Configured
• Revision type allows you to group type of Maintenance events that are similar, e.g. SD can indicate all major shuts, MD may indicate event with modifications, MS may indicate minor or small maintenance task.
• To use revision with maintenance event builder, WPS Ctrl flag has to be set to “W”
• Number range of revision is maintained at plant level

Processing of Notification and Order with Revision
A revision can be assigned to Notification as well as Order
Order start and end dates gets copied from revision if the revision is assigned to order while creating it
If revision is assigned to notification and an order is created from this notification, order start and end dates will be copied fromrevision.
When the revision is assigned to notifications / order, system checks that the technical object defined in notification / order are same or at least in the same hierarchy as in the revision
Revision can be assigned to multiple orders / notification indicating a group of task that needs to be performed at same time

Centralized task list helps reducing number of task list that needs to be maintained for entire asset at different locations. In normal circumstances, if there are multiple maintenance plants each needs to have their own task list to create orders with correct work centers, storage location, purchasing details. Centralized task list overcome this problem by creating a single instance of the master data
When the task list gets exploded to create operations in an order, hypothetical work center for operation and hypothetical storage locations for components in task list gets replaced with actual work center and storage location based on rules defining in conversion table (Transaction MEBOR)
© SAP AG 2007
Details of Conversion Table – Transaction MEBOR
• Heart of the centralized task list is to set up rule for selecting resultant work center in the operation of the maintenance or service orders. Following important information is set in the rule table.
• Main work center and plant of the main work center (maintenance location), • Work center and plant of the task list operation, • Valid from date, • Work center and plant of the task list operation valid for the PM/CS order
• At order creation time, based on “Main work center” maintained at the header level and Work center maintained at item level in task list (this normally is a hypothetical work center), system substitutes resultant work center at order operation level. Logic of resultant work center can be enhanced using BADI DI_WPS_CONVERT_TASKL
• For storage location there is no standard logic, one can develop own logic using BADI di_wps_plant_storeloc. It is also possible to define logic of storage location by using stock determination process in PM/CS order
• It is obvious that while we have flexibility to define rule for internal operations, rules for external operation is also needed and can be managed using BADI di_wps_purch_data

Hierarchical Task list to Organize Maintenance Work
With the Hierarchical task list, the planner can organize a complex work into small identifiable tasks The hierarchical structure allows selection of tasks from any level and all the subordinate task list are considered as a group when orders are createdCost and Scheduling can be managed easilyPossibilities to optimize the work package by removing duplicate tasks (When used with Maintenance Event Builder, MEB) allows a flexible and technically correct hierarchical structure of task listVariant configuration allows usage of same hierarchical task list for multiple different type of assets for different type of requirementsEnhancements to adopt and add more attributes allows efficient and easy search criteria

Enhancements
User Exit IAIH0001 can be used for enhancement of Task list in following area
Additional fields at Header level of Task list as well as Hierarchical Task listIt is possible to define screen that allows entry of these fields from Task list as well as Hierarchical Task List
Variant Configuration allows selecting alternative task list from the lower level using object dependencies. Setting of object dependencies is simplified
It is possible to mark a task list as deleted or Excluded and all the sub-ordinate task list also gets marked accordingly

Notification with MEB
It is important to allow linking task list at notification level. To enable this feature, notification type should have set up with sub screen as shown
SPRO Plant Maintenance and Customer Service Maintenance and Service Processing Maintenance and Service Notifications Notification Creation Notification Types Set Screen Templates for the Notification Type
With this set up, system allows linking of task list to Maintenance Notification using IW21/IW22/IW23

Notification and Order Link
To have a consistent working for MEB it is recommended to set a relation between the type of order that should be created when a given type of notification is exploded in MEB
It is not essential for MEB to create order from notifications, but MEB can also link an order from planning board to a MEB revision. To do this it is essential to create an notification from order using IW32 (if it does not exist) , select the notification created in planning board. When this notification is linked to a revision, corresponding order also gets linked to same revision

Deferring a Notification to Future Date
It is possible that for some reasons of urgencies some of the planed work gets delayed or differed because non availability of spare, trained resources or because of available time.
While differing work in future date, it is essential to track how far it can be differed from the perspective of compliance or risk. It is possible to set the deferrals after setting up Priorities for the notification type.
It is possible to select set of notificaions based on selected revision and content of revision. It is also possible to add few more features by providing appropriate BADI DIWPS_Noti_SELECT

Planning Board in Maintenance Event Builder
Planning Board within MEB is divided in three areaMaintenance object view Selected Function location and Equipments on a Gantt chart indicating planned down time of each asset.
Work Center ViewThis view allows display of assignment of different crews to different maintenance event in a Gantt Chart
Resource ViewThis view allows display of individual resources assigned to a work center and how far they loaded compared to the planned availability of resources
It is possible to select date range of the Gantt Chart
It is possible to change time scale of the Gantt Chart

Creation of Order Using Revision Report in MEB
Orders can be created using Maintenance Event Builder (TrCode WPS1) or using Revision report (Tr Code WPS2).
This is a report that can be executed with parallel processing mode there by reducing time needed to create orders. This report can be scheduled in background mode.
To manage creation of project and any other processing requirements, BADI: DIWPS_NW_CREATE has been provided. This BADI gets executed before the creating orders. Within this BADI, a project or network order can be created based on templates. You can select templates from standard network using revision, plant, work center etc.

PM/PS Reference Element
It is possible to set a library of PM/PS reference elements.
Library helps in consistent entry of reference element in master data.
It is possible to use free text as reference element in master data
PM/PS reference can be maintained at Header level of Task list, activity level in std. network and std. WBS level
When Operative Projects are created than information gets copied from standard structures
Information from task list gets copied to order
