Conclusions I.Rhynchophorus ferrugineus is present in every Member State where susceptible palm trees are grown outdoorPresent in large areas for several yearsThe level of outbreak, on which the 2007 emergency decision was based, was significantly higher than assumed2007 – 2009 except Malta significant increase in number of outbreaks, in contaminated areaThe range of contaminated species has increased, especially within the regions with high density of outbreaksCompleteness, homogeneity of surveys, early detection (e.g. use of traps)
