Robots will be very important in the world of tomorrow. Even today we can see changes; we have robots to help the physically challenged and to entertain children. Tomorrow we will have better robots to help in the medical field and possibly takeus to the far reaches of the space. From the deepest ocean to the farthest planet, robots will help us get there; robots are yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Robots will be the key to the next step of human evolution.

ASIMO ASIMO is the culmination of two decades of humanoid robotics research by Honda engineers. ASIMO can run, walk on uneven slopes and surfaces, turn smoothly, climb stairs, and reach for and grasp objects. ASIMO can also comprehend and respond to simple voice commands. ASIMO has the ability to recognize the face of a select group of individuals. Using its camera eyes, ASIMO can map its environment and register stationary objects. ASIMO can also avoid moving obstacles as it moves through its environment.

ROOMBAThe Roomba is a pretty awesome little machine, really. Made by the appropriately named iRobot company, it is arguably one of the most widely used household robots today. A small autonomous vacuum cleaner, the Roomba can safely navigate your home by itself thanks to a variety of intuitive sensors (including the so-called cliff sensors that stop it from falling off ledges or down stairs).

QRIOQRIO is a humanoid robot, equipped with the latest in advanced recognition, motional control communications, information technology, and artificial intelligence. It can distinguish individual faces and voices, and can learn and memorize new words.

AIBOAIBO actually has emotions and instincts programmed into his brain. He acts to fulfill the desires created by his instincts. If satisfied, his joy level will rise. If not, then he will get sad or angry.

ACTROIDRobots that were humanoid used to have two legs, two arms and a head. That was where the resemblance ended. The Actroid has moving eyes, an expressive mouth and a human voice. And she’s all the more fear-inspiring for it.
