Research Accomplishments: Achieved best results on CdS/NiO and CdS/TiO2 core/shell structures for photocatalytic H2 generation. Identified and optimized a new synthetic route for Cu2O quantum dots on TiO2 photocatalysts. Succeeded in preparation of Cu2O sensitized TiO2 nanorods with nanocavities for H2 generation. Conceived a novel idea for synthesis and applications of TiO2-based nanotube materials. Synthesized a novel visible light active Cu/Ag quantum dots onTiO2 nanotube photocatalysts for hydrogen

production. Developed a simple efficient method to synthesize visible light active N-doped TiO2 and achieved about 2

times activity compared to commercial material for photocatalytic decomposition of organics. Appreciated by project review committee, Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), India for

effective design of thin film photo-reactor for wastewater treatment, a reactor now in use by researchers in Anna University, India
