was wrong? What did you do? Did you rememberwhat you had been taught at home or at churchabout living for Jesus? Did that help you make theright choice?

Joseph remembered that his family’s God waswith him and would help him. Let’s read about it.

hen Joseph was sold by his brothers, hemight have been tempted to give up on

God. He might have thoughtthat God should nothave let him besent far away.But thenhisthoughtsturned tohishome,and whathis fatherhad taughthim aboutGod. Hehad toldJoseph thatGod alwayskeeps Hispromises.Josephdecidedto givehimself fully tohis father’s God. Inreturn, God blessed him.

The Bible says, “The Lord was with Joseph”(Genesis 39:2). When Joseph was sold to aman named Potiphar, God was with him andblessed Potiphar too!

Soon Potiphar gave Joseph responsibilityfor his entire house. God blessed Joseph, andmany people liked him.

Potiphar’s wife noticed what a good jobJoseph did. She also saw that he was veryhandsome. Satan used her to tempt Joseph.

One day Potiphar’s wife asked Joseph to dosomething he knew was

wrong. SinceJoseph was

so closeto God,

hesaid,“No!”

But Potiphar’s wife didn’t give up. Every dayshe asked Joseph to come to her. And eachday he refused. When she realized Joseph wasn’t going to do what she wanted, shedecided to get Joseph into trouble.

“I want to be alone with you,” she toldJoseph.

Again Joseph said, “No.” As he turned to go,she grabbed his coat, pulling it off.

“Help!” she called tothe other servants.“Joseph tried toattack me!”

It wasn’t true.Joseph hadbeen faithfulto God andloyal to hismaster,Potiphar. ButPotiphar’swife showedhim Joseph’scoat. She toldhim that Josephhad attackedher and left hiscoat behind. SoPotiphar sentJoseph toprison.

PoorJoseph! Hehad lost hisjob even

though he had done nothing wrong. Yet, eventhough Joseph was in prison, he knew thatGod was still with him. He believed that God

would continue to bless him.God wants to be with

you, too. When He iswith you, it is mucheasier to live forJesus. It is easier to

say “No” to Satan.Joseph

learned thiswhen he wasat home withhis family. He

never forgotit. Alwaysrememberwhat you

have learnedabout God inyourChristian

family.Knowing Himbetter will makeyou strong. And

you don’t have toworry about what will

happen to you.

Take a Sabbath walk with your family. Lookfor animal, bird, and insect homes. How do theirhomes protect them from enemies? How doesyour home protect you from our enemy, Satan?Read 1 Peter 5:8, 9. Read today’s lesson storyabout Joseph. How did Joseph’s home help toprotect him from Satan?

Read Revelation 3:11 and tell what itmeans to you. Thank Jesus for your home.

To be rescued in the water you must hold ontightly to the life saver that is thrown to you. If possible, get some Life Saver candies and glue themin a big circle onto construction paper. Write yourmemory verse in the center. Hang this in your room.

Genesis 39:10-12. Joseph ran away from Satan’s temptation. Satan also runs away. Read James 4:7together and discuss how to make Satan run away.

Run 100 yards (meters) as fast as you can.Have someone time you. Can you run fast enough toget away from Satan? Who will help you?

Say your memory verse in your own words. Sing“Dare to Be a Daniel” (Sing for Joy, No. 116) beforeprayer. Ask Jesus to help you keep away from Satan.
