April-July 2018 Sermon Schedule

The Life of Joseph - ‘God

meant it for good’

The story of Joseph, the eleventh son of Jacob (and his favourite son), is one of the most graphic and attractive stories in the Old Testament. He experienced both dramatic highs and lows of life; and yet through it all he could see the providential and faithful hand of God. It is a story that extends our horizons of what God is doing in each of our lives and is a story of huge encouragement.

Exploring Matthew

As we come to look at the second half of Matthew’s Gospel we see many of the early themes (righteousness, fulfilment, Messiah, Son of David) being further developed. We come to new extended ‘sermons’ by Matthew and to his moving passion narrative. Here too we will see a Gospel for the church and a Gospel for all nations. Matthew’s Gospel was more quoted in second century Christian literature than any other gospel. Here is Gospel to shape our discipleship and our church life and mission.
