During the 60s, the Beatles have starred in TV shows, commercials, and even movies! The Beatles have also given many rocking performances at concerts. They have also done a charity concert in Bangladesh. Although the Beatles are not so popular now, years ago, they were in everybody’s hearts. This band has inspired so many people from teens to adults, and no one will ever forget them. Interview with Ponyboy Curtis by: Varshini Arumugam My name is Varshini Arumugam from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today, I am sitting down with the one and only Ponyboy Curtis. This young lad is an inspiration to everyone who has read that outstanding English essay of his that was published just last week. I'm going to be asking Pony some questions on his wild experiences and changes and hopefully he can provide us with some advice not only to teens around the world but for everyone. 1. How did you feel when your hair was cut by your friend Johnny? At first, I did not want to cut my hair. It was the one thing us greasers were proud of. I was furious with Johnny's crazy idea cuz our hair was tuff, and it labeled me a greaser. But I knew my long, silky hair had to be cut short, or else we'd be caught by the fuzz. 2. Your timid friend Johnny killed a Social while you were being held under water. Did you think this would happen in the situation you were in? I was so shocked. I couldn't even process the fact that he killed someone. For a person like Johnny to do such a thing, I was pretty surprised. But I understood he did that to save my life and it was really an act of self-defense. However I feel like he shoulda done somethin' else to protect himself and me other than choosing the option of murder. 3. What did you realize when Dally stormed out of that room when Johnny died? I immediately realized what Johnny was to Dally. Johnny was the one thing Dally loved, and now he's gone. And I can see why Dally cared about Johnny. Dally didn't have a great childhood; he got arrested when he was 10. And since he's got no parents or family, he cares about Johnny, who is pretty much abandoned by his family. Dally cares about Johnny's early life, and doesn't want him to end up like himself. 5. Why did you want to write your them about this story? I had two reasons for writing this specific story. First, I wanted to tell everyone this story, starting with my English teacher, because it was important to me. Secondly, I wanted to tell everyone an important message: There are bad things in this world, but sometimes we have to see the good things in life and have hope.

Interview with Ponyboy Curtis

by: Varshini Arumugam

My name is Varshini Arumugam from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Did you think this would happen in the situation you were in?I was so shocked. I couldn't even process the fact that he killed someone. For a person like Johnny to do such a thing, I was pretty surprised. But I understood he did that to save my life and it was really an act of self-defense. However I feel like he shoulda done somethin' else to protect himself and me other than choosing the option of murder.

3. What did you realize when Dally stormed out of that room when Johnny died?I immediately realized what Johnny was to Dally.

4. Although you're a Greaser, why do you think Cherry, a Soc, sees the same sunset as you do?I know I'm a Greaser, and she's a Soc. But it don't matter! It don't matter if we're labeled differently in society, or if we're good or bad people, or even if she's richer than I am. We are all human beings and no matter who we are, there are things that we can all see, like the beautiful sunset everyday. If you're on the West side, it looks amazing. If you're on the East side, it looks just as good.

5. Why did you want to write your them about this story?I had two reasons for writing this specific story. First, I wanted to tell everyone this story, starting with my English teacher, because it was important to me. Secondly, I wanted to tell everyone an important message: There are bad things in this world, but sometimes we have to see the good things in life and have hope.
