Get ready for some autumn fun! This month your child will participate in a pumpkin carving demonstration, taste pumpkin seeds and a pumpkin pie, and participate in several arts and crafts projects!

Please note that we will partake in our Halloween festivities on Friday, October 27. Your child may come dressed in his or her costume on this day.

We recommend that children who come dressed in costumes follow these guidelines:

We want to be considerate of families who do not wish to have their child participate in these activities. Please see your child’s teachers to ensure s/he participates in the non-holiday themed alternate activity.

Thank you for your cooperation!

-Avoid toy weapons as part of the costume.

-Avoid scary monsters, blood, and gore. (Parents, please use your best judgment.)

-Please, remember that your child must be able to use the bathroom independently. Ties and snaps are difficult to manage on some costumes.

We encourage children to dress as storybook characters, animals, or community helpers.

The deadline to enter the Scarecrow Contest is Wednesday, October 19.

To enter, please bring in your homemade scarecrow to school.Turn in all scarecrow entries to Mrs. Ortiz.
