This week: This week was all about how we take care of our clothes. We learned that there are several different ways to wash our clothes. Our water area was converted into a clothes washing table. We learned to wash clothes by hand, with a wash board, and we even took a walk to a local laundromat and saw first hand how the machines(both washers and dryers) work.

While visiting the laundromat we sketched a picture of the

machines.

This week we also began learning how to sew clothes. We each sewed our own mitten. We will wear them at our fashion show for all to see.

After reading Goldilocks and The Three Bears we discussed the meaning of the word porridge and decided to make some porridge for all to taste. Ms. Aisha had a recipe for porridge made in Puerto Rico called Cremita de Maiz. Mr. Hogan our Head of School shared the porridge he makes at home which comes from Ireland. Both recipes were different but delicious. Thank you Mr. Hogan for sharing with us.

This week we also had a traveling zoo come to the library at LCCS and show us some really cool animals. We saw a Wallaby, a skunk, a chinchilla, a pot belly pig, and lots more. It was a wonderful experience being up close and personal with these beautiful animals.
