Kimberley Shotokan Karate Club October Fund Raising Newsletter. Dear Students/Parents, This year, alongside all the fantastic events and fun training sessions we have had, we have also been fundraising for charity. In February, we took part in raising money and awareness for World Cancer Day and turned the dojo pink for a week with our pink belts and big smiles and we ended up raising about £170 during the week. This coming October though, we have bigger plans and hope to raise even more money to support Breast Cancer Awareness month. Once more, we hope to turn the dojo pink, but this time for the whole of the month. Students who have already purchased their pink belts are free to wear them as often as they like, we just ask for a £1 “non-karate uniform” donation at the start of the month. For students that would like a Pink Belt then the belts will be £5 with all money going to charity. Please let me know by Thursday 28 th by the latest so I can get the order in before October. Any donations will of course be appreciated. – [let me know face-to-face/via Facebook/by email/by text]. Another activity we are going to launch, is our month long challenge – We want everyone in the dojo to work together to achieve 10,000 push up’s over October. Each student will be given a sponsorship sheet to raise money and throughout the training sessions 10 minutes at the start and 10 minutes at the end will be dedicated to breaking the target. The suggested sponsorship rate is ‘a penny a push up’ so get as many people to sponsor you as possible because you need to do 100 push ups to achieve £1. We are also delighted to be able to announce that we are holding the first KSKC Pink Ribbon coffee morning on Saturday 21 st of October. It is open to club members, family and friends and also to the general public. Please help us to raise lots of money by putting poster’s and fliers around your local area, either at places of work or local places of interest, spreading the word to family and friends or by baking a cake or two for the club to sell on the day … I’ve got dibs on baking the Chocolate Cornflake cakes . All students are invited to join us for the training session on Saturday morning [in pink belts] for a group photo and plenty of laughs.

October Fund Raising Newsletter.

Dear Students/Parents,

This year, alongside all the fantastic events and fun training sessions we have had, we have also been fundraising for charity.

Please let me know by Thursday 28th by the latest so I can get the order in before October. Any donations will of course be appreciated. – [let me know face-to-face/via Facebook/by email/by text].

The suggested sponsorship rate is ‘a penny a push up’ so get as many people to sponsor you as possible because you need to do 100 push ups to achieve £1.

We are also delighted to be able to announce that we are holding the first KSKC Pink Ribbon coffee morning on Saturday 21st of October. Thank you for your continued support. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that KSKC is a non-profit making club. All money that you pay or donate is reinvested into the club to purchase new equipment and/or subsidise insurance and membership costs.
