Unsearchable Riches

In the 1964 play, "Fiddler on the Roof,” Tevye, the main character, sings a lively song entitled “If I Were a Rich Man.” The lyrics include these lines:

“Lord who made the lion and the lamb, You decreedI should be what I am. Would it spoil some vast

eternal plan? If I were a wealthy man.”

In recent years God has been teaching me about true wealth…His unsearchable riches available to those who are In Christ. Continually, He is showing me that too often women live in spiritual poverty, seeking satisfaction in this world, when God has created us for so much more. We do not realize who we are in Christ and that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. Why would we live like those outside of Christ, pursuing meaning while chasing a moving target, never to find what we are looking for? What are we missing?

With the book of Ephesians as our focus we will look at what God says about all this. We will discover truths about the unsearchable riches of God that will thrill, challenge and change us forever. When we grab hold of the mystery of these riches in Christ, everything changes regarding our outlook on life, the way we handle suffering, the way we combat sin, discipline our children and talk to our husbands and friends. We discover we are a part of something sacred that is displayed through families, churches and the standards by which we live each day! What are we forfeiting simply because we do not know the riches of His grace?

I can hardly wait to meet with you around the Scriptures at The Cove, concluding with a glorious worship service in the Chatlos Chapel on Sunday morning.

Delaine Blackwell

Delaine has studied and passionately taught God’s Word for more than 30 years. Currently, she is the teaching director for Community Bible Study in Columbia, SC. Also, as one of the founders of Joy of Abiding, she teaches women’s conferences and leads Bible study tours in the Bible Lands. Her delight is to disciple women and see them fall in love with Jesus Christ, walk in the truths of the Bible and in the power of the Holy

Spirit. She believes that when you disciple a woman, you disciple the world.

Delaine grew up in Greer, SC, graduated with a BA from Furman University and a MEd. from the University of South Carolina. She taught special needs children in schools across the state, and, as an educator, served on the boards of Ben Lippen School and Columbia International University. She has been married to Mike for 47 years and enjoys life with her two sons, daughters-in-law and nine grandchildren.

One Purpose is a music and teaching ministry. Laura Christy, Beth Greer and Miriam Beacham have been singing together since 1991, leading in worship at women's retreats, conferences, revivals and concerts. They seek to encourage and evangelize through music and teaching.

Sharing from her own life story, Beth will describe some of the unsearchable riches of God’s grace He has lavished upon her. She learned about Jesus as a child living in Brazil and has discovered that the riches of God’s grace often become most precious during the seasons of greatest difficulty.

The Billy Graham Conference Center at the Cove is located in the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, two miles east of Asheville, NC, and about 2 1/2 hours from Columbia.

The cost for the study, materials, two night's lodging, dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday & breakfast on Sunday is:
