What is your favorite food/dish?

My comfort foods, in addition to Korean food, include Japanese ramen, savory crepes, anything from Gramercy Tavern, the entire menu at the Original Pancake House, and the occasional Doritos Locos Taco.

Any family traditions that are interesting?

Going on vacation with the extended family has become an annual tradition. It’s great because we have some extra hands to watch the kids, so we get a vacation from the vacation.

If you knew the world was ending, what would you do differently?

It depends. If the world were to continue on in some dystopian state, I would start amassing a stockpile of toilet paper, which I believe would become the new “currency.” If the world was truly ending, I would quit my job and spend every last minute with my family and friends.

Who would you choose as your mentor?

The Most Interesting Man in the World

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

If I had the time, I would learn how to fly an airplane.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble?

My brother and I were pranksters growing up. One time, we thought it would be hilarious to set up a “trap” in our room by leaving the door slightly ajar with a pillow balanced above the door. The idea was that the next person to walk into the room would have a pillow fall on them. Harmless little prank, we thought. Unfortunately, the next person to enter the room was my mom while she was balancing a tray of hot soup she had lovingly prepared for my brother and me. When she came in, the pillow fell into the soup and knocked it to the floor. To this day she hasn’t forgiven me for this.

Last, some random tidbits:

I made it to the National Spelling Bee three times in a row. This was before it was “cool” and covered on ESPN by Chris Berman. During one of those trips, I shared an elevator with Ross Perot.

My wife and I beat Super Mario Brothers Wii over the course of 3 days. Yes, this was before we had kids.

Karaoke’d “Livin on a Prayer” at my wedding reception.
