What are we learning this week?

memorization. Evaluate vocabulary learning. Reciting al-Fatihah with correct Tajwid. Explain the significance of the letters at the beginning of the
Surah. State how the Qur’an’s unique style is a miracle. List characteristics of people who benefit from Qur’an. Find an example of personification in the Ayat and why Allah
may have chosen to personify the Qur’an. Explain the attitudes of the believers when praying and
giving charity.

9ا فس شيئ قوا يوم9ا ال تجزي نفس عن ن وات وال يقبل منها شفاعة وال يؤخذ منها عدل وال
هم ينصرون
And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be
taken from it, nor will they be aided.
Which day is this Ayah referring to? What are some things that we rely on in this world which will not really help us in the next? What should we focus on instead?

كنتم صادقينSay, [O Muhammad], "If the home of the Hereafter with Allah is for you alone and not the [other] people, then wish for death, if you should be truthful.
In this Ayah, some Jews are being addressed. They thought that just because they are Jewish, they will automatically get the best life in the Hereafter. Does any human have a guarantee that he/she will be accepted into Jannah? Do Muslims ever fall into this mistake of thinking that they are guaranteed Jannah regardless of what they do, just by virtue of carrying the label “Muslim”? MONTHLY PROJECT 1:QUR’AN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
Create ANY 2D display which aims to persuade the 4th – 6th graders to spend more time reading
and memorizing Qur’an. They will vote on which project inspired them the most. Best projects will
be displayed in school hallways. Use what you learned about the Qur’an to reach out to the
younger students!
This project is graded. Grades will be based on accuracy of content, creativity/originality, visual appeal, ad slogan (possibly Ayah or Hadith) and
how well display shows understanding of audience
(4th – 6th graders).

Alif, Lam, Meem. These are verses of the wise Book, As guidance and mercy for the doers of good who establish prayer and give
Zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the
successful.
