Deborah A bible prophetess and judge of Israel who gathered an army
of 10,000 soldiers to fight oppressive Canaanites. She
followed God’s revelation of how and went to fight, and the
mountains and clouds defended the Israelites. She helped lead her people to
victory (Judges 4-5).
Esther Queen of Persia. She saved her people from
being destroyed by bravely asking the King to save her people when the evil Haman plotted
to destroy them. (Esther 1-10)
Samuel the Lamanite
Stood on a wall to tell the people about the coming
birth of the Savior (see Hel. 14:1–5). Even
when arrows were shot at him, they could not hit him because he was preaching
God’s word.
Eve The mother of all people. She made the
choice to eat fruit from the tree of knowledge of
good and evil so she and Adam could have children and we could
all be on earth.
Daniel Prayed to God even when it was forbidden. He spent an evening in a den of lions (see Dan. 6), but was not harmed because God protected
him.
Abish A Lamanite woman who was converted to the Lord for many
years was a servant to King Lamoni. When the king and
queen fell to the earth because they felt the spirit, she ran from house to house telling people
because she knew it would help them believe in Jesus.
Miriam She saved her brother Moses’s life by hiding him in a basket in the river, then offering the pharoah’s daughter to have her mother take
care of Moses (exodus 2: 2-10)
Mary
An angel came to tell her she was chosen to be the mother of Jesus. She was willing, and
raised Jesus and taught Him.
Mary Magdalene Chose to stay with Jesus as He hung on the cross. She helped bury Him. She was the very
first person Jesus appeared to after He
was resurrected.
NoahBuilt an ark and took two of each animal
inside. Followed God’s commandment and saved himself, his
family, and the animals from the flood.
Moroni After his father and all of his people were
killed, he buried the golden plates in the
ground, and later came back as an angel to
deliver them to Joseph Smith.
Joseph When his brothers sold him into Egypt, he worked hard and gained the trust of the
pharaoh and became a great leader. He could interpret dreams, and was able to
save the people from famine because he listened to the Lord.
Moses He helped the children of Israel to escape
Egypt, and lead them through the wilderness for 40 years. He built a tabernacle, which was a
temple that could be moved.
