Washington…Washington DC is the capital of the USA. The city
stands on the Potomac River. You can look at some Washington’s attractions…
NATIONAL MALLThere is the National Mall in the center of Washington. It’s
an open platform with numerous memorials and museums.
Washington monumentThere is the most important memorial in DC – Washington
Monument. It honours the “Father of Country”, General, and the first President of the USA – George Washington.
Lincoln MemorialThere is Lincoln Memorial on a west side of the National Mall.
Inside the Memorial there is a grand sculpture of the 16th USA President
Abraham Lincoln.
Between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial is the National Memorial II-Second World War. The same Western Mall are
two more important memorial commemorating the soldiers who fought in the Korean and Vietnam wars: Korean War Veterans
Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The War Memorials
This is the National Museum of American History, called "the American attic." The National Archives demonstrates the important documents of the country: the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the U.S. Constitution.

The laws are passed in the Capitol.
The White HouseThe White House is the residence of all American Presidents,
except Washington, because the White house was finished after his death.
PentagonPentagon – the U.S.A. Department
of Defence is in the shape of a regular pentagon. Pentagon - the
largest office building in the world.
